It's obvious, also, no audience score.

That movie got more credit than it deserved. 50% favorable reviews is a joke.

Disney is known for fucking over reviewers hard if they give bad reviews for good movies. Disneyshit will always get 90+ unless it's truly awful.
>>
>Average review: 7.7

Get your eyes checked ding bats.
>>
>>68199878
ABC Disney literally signs a lot of these reviewers paychecks. They work for them directly you shithead.
>>
Disney's monopoly on the blockbuster film market is depressing

It's the same safe, all inclusive, unchallenging movie again and again. And they all make ridiculous money.
>>
I don't like any Disney movies because I haven't been a child in a while, but anyone who denies they put out almost exclusively top quality stuff for the demographics they're appealing to is an idiot. Then again I realize I'm on a board full of people who go out and see the latest animated shit for kids and think it's completely normal, then come here and discuss it on a site that's supposed to be 18+.

Because they occasionally drop a really bad bomb that gets bad reviews (with a greenlight from Disney) every once in awhile so some fuck on 4chan can say "why did x get bad reviews?" You're essentially an unpaid shill. That's how good they are.

>not being on the Disney juggernaut
OUT OF THE WAY LOSERS
>>
Ugh the worst thing about Disney devouring culture is occasionally they are decent enough at it that I want to check it out.

John Favreau trying to create an immerssive vfx world with the Jungle Book setting and characters sounds really appealing to me and I'll probably check it out. I'm not expecting anything GREAT, because critics are fucking trash now with how uniformly they embrace "ok fine" movies.

What?

RT always writes an early consensus for handpicked early reviews before opening day. ALWAYS. They also usually change it after a few days when the negative reviews start pouring in.
>>
>>68200140

I liked Iron Man and Chef, and I think the studio ruined IM2.

This. Watch it drop real soon.

Also, keep in mind that reviewers are told to review this with the target audience in mind. Marvel movies are reviewed with a younger audience being considered as well as adult audiences, and the recent DC movies are told to keep in mind teens and older.
>>
>>68201512
It's a 7.7 and will probably go lower soon. So you're right

>Average Rating: 7.7/10
This is the "It was alright." Disney formula that they've really settled into. A lot of Disney movies end up being really fresh because it's mediocre enough to not be terrible and but it's almost never amazing. They make movies to be as accessible and inoffensive to most people as possible. Disney is the McDonalds of the movie industry.
>>
>>68199720
This movie might be good...

But I've stopped trusting RT when it comes to Disney-produced films after they gave Star Wars: TFA a 92% and an average rating of like 8.3/10.
>>
>>68202480
>Disney is the McDonalds of the movie industry

100% correct -- could not have said it better myself.
I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't result in their movies didn't always have a constant circle-jerk on the web.
Also it results in their animated movies winning Oscars they don't deserve.

Though I did really like Zootopia
>>
>>68202538
>Also it results in their animated movies winning Oscars they don't deserve.
Nobody in the Academy cares about the Best Animated Film award. They largely just choose the biggest and most successful animated movie for the year and call it a day.

That's why I think they should either find some way to change the voting procedure of that category or just dump it altogether and push for them to nominate animated films in more serious categories.

Otherwise it becomes literally 'give Disney a free Oscar'.

I can at least hope that if a Disney film has to win this year, it is Zootopia instead of the Pixar sequel or the princess musical being released during Oscar season.
>>
>>68202617
No way was it worth a fucking 92%. It was a generic cluster-fuck with completely forgettable characters, rehashed story elements, generic direction and cinematography, painfully obvious fan-service, and -- perhaps most egregious of all -- a highly forgettable John Williams score.
>>
>>68201563
Yeah I guess I liked it. Probably 6/10. My gf loved it though cuz she's into that nostalgic Disney shit.
>>68202425
I saw it because I live in Brisbane, Australia and it came out last week for us.
I can't remember the pun you're talking about but I can tell you he got the torch from the human camp and ran back to the peaceful watering hole. There was a little spark that fell from the torch which set the forest on fire and he didn't realise it until all the animals were scared of him for having the red flower
