How can a show be so hard to watch? Who likes or want something like this?
Anyway, I think the problem nowadays, at least for me, is the lack of meaningful and sharp dialogue in tv shows. People just talk and talk and the show goes on, but you could tell so much more and add great sub-text with well-thought out and interesting dialogue.

What helped me a lot with all of this is to slow down the speed at which I talk.
It makes me seem more confident, makes me seem more intelligent, gives me more time to notice changes in body language, and gives me more time to think of other things to say.

Sorry, late reply but I had to run to the store.
I overplanned it, and when I did the weather was nice so we were going to be outdoors. Right when we get where I'm taking her the weather turns shitty and it gets real cold and real windy. I almost sperged out so fucking hard when it didn't go like I planned it going.
At that point I was so uncomfortable and I knew she was too so I said fuck it and threw my whole plan out the window and took her to this little hole in the wall taqueria my friend and I go to when we are drunk. It's kind of dumpy, but the food is incredible, joking around about the appearance was a pretty decent icebreaker and it went well from there. Being a place I knew and was comfortable with made me so much more relaxed so I ended up salvaging it. Try to take her somewhere you know.
Just ask her questions about her life, it's really that simple. Start with her job, her family, where she grew up, generic stuff. Something will get her to open up and then talk about yourself on whatever that subject is. Just remember a conversations not a race, take it slow and really listen. It's not about being cool or interesting, it's about being genuinely interested in her.
