Amusing how most of the films on that list that are actually good are all 'co-directed,' meaning the husband actually directed it and gave their wife honorary credit, who presumably contributed very little. Case in point is the inclusion of Tarr's films and Leviathan.

technology eats man…woman inherits the earth. a conceptually & emotionally clear, near-abstract remix of the franchise, and its iconography, as a way of meditating on the power/value of images & artifice -- legit masterwork.

Honestly I never seen that happen before, it looks like you marked them down in your diary correctly and everything. Maybe try liking a few films.
Mildred Pierce was pretty good, but if anything piqued my interest for Todd Hayne's adaptation of the novel. very easy to see what parts he would've fleshed out and what he would've treated differently (read: better). Carol was fucking great, after all.
oh, and Maud's was great. felt indifferent towards The Green Ray (only other Rohmer I've seen) but this one hit all the right spots. would expect it to play even better a second time around.
>>68189718
Your profile is showing "Recent Likes" instead of "Recent Activity." The only reason it might be doing this that I can think of is because you've logged fewer than 4 films in your diary.
>>68189718
It's because you haven't logged at least 4 films yet

thanks dubs people.
I remember a poster where you had some huge fucking dude in the poster like a profile picture
It wasn't Dennis from 2007 and it wasn't Pumping Iron
help?
>>68189772
It can be a first impressions review and then go back at a later date for a more in depth look after the film has had time to be processed by the mind.
>Both Neil and Vincent are brutal men: the initial attempt by Neil and his crew to kill Waingro correlates to the attack by Vincent and Lt. Casals (Wes Studi) on Van Zandt’s informant (Henry Rollins). Both men are governed, marginally, by the codes of conduct informing their respective social groups. These codes, like the organisations generating them, seem on the verge of collapse. At the end, both Neil and Vincent are alone, less, I think, to showcase the “final showdown” to which the drama has been moving than to emphasise their alienation from domesticity and forms of male organisation alike.
What a cuckshed pov

Was Adam Cook really on /tv/? Kinda hard to believe.
Do you guys care about reviews and meme lists or only use LB to keep a track of your movies?
>>68191260
i used to use nosajs feed to see what was hot and hip but he deleted his account
>>68191260
I like writing reviews to remind me of what I've watched, otherwise I may later forget the actual content of the movie.
>>68191260
I just use it to keep track of what I watch, but I'll review and rate everything I do watch. I don't really have any need to make any lists

Hi

only really recently started properly watching films so I'm just charting my adventures in technicolour
I rate stuff and very very rarely leave a one or two sentence review

I only rate/like my movies because I'm scared to write reviews.

I like reading the in-depth review to movies I have conflicting feelings about. I end up reading and liking recent reviews from my followers/people who I'm following though.
Lists can be useful because it can build up my watchlist.
>>68187889
He sure has a lot of projects lined up, from his publishing imprint, to the Sam Giancana biopic to Enzo Ferrari, which I haven't heard anything about in so long it probably isn't going to shoot this summer, as planned. I wonder how many of these come to fruition.

Yeah, I'm the same way. It's really helpful to look at lists from people who have similar tastes.
