And don't forget that death, while most likely inevitable in the literal sense, isn't really as likely to come as soon as we expect for our generation. There seem to be promising scientific advancements for longevity increasing drugs that aim to achieve biological immortality. At some point we can probably replace any damaged organ with artificial robotic versions of them. People that are below 40 or 30 have a good chance to be the first generation to reach the immortality escape velocity where artificial life increases come fast enough that every time they near death a new way of extending the life-span gets discovered.
In fact "putting your faith" in science seems to be a much more rational approach if your goal is to put your mind at ease. Religion gives you the promise for eternal life while science strives to put that promise into reality, verifiable reality.
