I think the only really long shounen anime that didnt suffer from the length was the 2011 Version of Hunter X Hunter at 148 episodes, and maybe Legend of Galactic Heroes at 110 episodes if you talk anime in general.
I think the idea of editing went overboard in re-imaginings like DBZ Kai, it removed all the draggy-charge-ups/fight scenes but also took out too much of the fluff/lore that lightened up the tone.

Eventually Hinata has to go with albino man or else her sister would be harmed. Hinata's sister already had her eyes taken so albino man could get a power boost.
The find his palace, Naruto stops the wedding just like in Shrek and they have a massive fight on the moon. Albino man loses, Hinata rips out his eyes and has someone else surgically reattach them to her sister and Naruto realizes Hinata loves him and he loves her back.
