Anyways, my understanding of Star Wars is that people who are really strong in the force can be old as shit yet be end up haveing Matrix like speed and agility, essually using the force to move there bodies.
I personally think this concept atually fits well with the OT because it proves that Yoda was right when he said " Luminous beings are we, not this crude matter."
However, I think it's more likely that Luke will show a new combat style not seen in either trilogy, one that compliments the paragon he undoubtedly has become being the son of the chosen one and not getting his balls burnt to crips.
Hopefully no one will be retarded enough to make the same mistake twice.
Surely the logic should be that more experienced force users have to make fewer movements due to their affinity with the force? This is why Luke vs. Vader on Bespin was the perfect sabre fight. Vaders power was demonstrated not by his action but by his lack of action

It speaks way more to the Jedi's skill and acument to the force by doing much less than a young, regular Jedi Knight. A Jedi Master shouldn't even HAVE to use his lightsaber at all. Thats what made the Emperor so unique to me, until the prequels fuck that shit up. In my eyes, heck theres a damn quote from Jedi in there somewhere that the Emperor views sabers as just toys.
Using the force to overwhelm their opponents seems way more old and wizard-like than spinning around doing animu bullshit like when Yoda flipped around in the prequels. Could he do it? Sure. Doesn't mean he should. It's way more interesting to watch Luke v Vader on Bespin than any other fight in the prequels. Because it's like a fucking samurai battle; tense, calculated and precision striking.
Luke should straight up reject his lightsaber in the next film and just let Rey keep it.

To expand on your point, he already has. At the end if RotJ, after Luke defeated Vader he literally threw his lighsaber away while declaring that he had finally become a Jedi.
That moment should have been used to justify the idea that the more powerful the Force user, the less need for external tools and weapons.
Yoda didn't use a light saber in the OT, and he never taught Luke how to use one.
Of course, all of that is tossed aside in the PT, and will likely be ignored in the NT
