>>68131085
Have you ever driven in Australian traffic?
>>68131134
I couldn't even tell you one thing about Australia
I dunno, Aus has a small population spread across a massive landmass with impossible terrain and living conditions. It would be hard to innovate and communicate and set up a film industry, or anything in that matter, hence why they rely on western films, technology. to me Aus is just a small mirror of the west or petri dish where USA meets commonwealth, so they just inherit and copy stuff without creating.

I canits a shithole
Post yfw you love BBC and think whites are inferior
>>68131085
>proving the point
>>68131221
The reason why Australian cinema sucks so much dick is because they try too hard to be 'cultured'. As in you can only get funding for the movie if it has some heavy dose of abbos or muh outback m8.
>met this hot Aus girl on omegle
>she's ten years younger than me and just got a boyfriend
How do I break them up and get her to wait for me
Itt: plebs that havent watched picnic at hanging rock or walkabout

Wait until she starts venting about relationship dramas, and then plant the seeds of its destruction. Worked for me.

When I say hot I mean she's a little weird looking, for some reason I'm really into that

Good list though dude. I'd put the Dressmaker in there, but it was probably a bit too girly for /tv/.

You don't know much about Australian cinema

Mad Max inspired most post-apocalypse media and is heavily referenced in the Fallout series

Two hands is my favourite crime movie ever.

Can anyone tell me what movie had a poster just like this with a robot or something? I can't remember.
Australian here.
pretty much true. Or it's a gross attempt at making a wholly American type of film, which never works. Sometimes I think our accent doesn't help us, especially with serious scenes.
Try this in an Australian accent and you'll see.
>G'day Damo
>Yeah g'day mate
>You alright mate?
>Yeah why mate
>It's Stacy, mate.
>Stacy?
>Yeah, she's... She's...
>She's bloody what mate?
>She's been in a car crash, mate.
Yeah, nah. Who knows. Also DAE notice we always use the same kind of steel-string acoustic "Australian country" music in like every drama film? Jesus.
>>68133477
pretty sure you're thinking of Short Circuit
>>68129077
The proposition was good.
>>68133650
No actually.
The robot was a cop and in the same pose as Max in the 1979 poster. I think the movie might predate Mad Max.
>>68131367
Only gimmicky Australian films tend to become popular overseas. That or you watched a film that wasn't about crocodiles and didn't realise it was made by an Australian.
Mad Max is actually good and popular though. I doubt you've seen anything else of note.
>>68131477
g'day is not a meme it's a commonly used word here
>>68131258
State funded cinema is the worst cinema. We have the same problem in Sweden. Everything that is considered good by the cultural elite is the same bland "norm critical" garbage whose only purpose is to be talked about rather than seen.
>>68133987
>The robot was a cop and in the same pose

Chopper and romper stomper were great.
