Was the dialogue in the film written to intentionally be bad? I know of the memeing that goes on here with these films but seriously, it sounds like it was written by a robot.

I don't know why you all expect Anakin to talk interact like a normal teenager. He was taken at a young age and indoctrinated into an order of celibate monks. He had deep emotional issues particularly relating to his mother, which were only made worse when he found her after she was captured, raped, beaten, and tortured by humanoid animals. He is suddenly thrust into close proximity to his Waifu who he thought he would never meet again, yet he is sworn to celibacy and to never have a relationship with a woman. He didn't get alot of flirting experience in the Jedi temple. This is all compounded by the intense pressure he has to live up to ObiWans expectations who he feels doesn't appreciate his efforts.

Its been long known that Lucas is bad at writing dialogue. Harrison Ford said in a Star Wars interview in the early 80s that they used to say to him "we can't say this. People don't talk like this."
But by the sequels he was surrounded by yes men and no one was willing to tell him when something sounded stupid.
