I don't see how you can rank the seasons like that. Season 1 was a solid show. Season 2 was already becoming inundated with in jokes, snark, cynical writing. Season 3 was borderline unbearable, almost becoming a parody of itself.
Harmon starting pulling talent from reddit and listening to what they had to say. He's also a self-destructive asshole who is impossible to work with. He also lost many of his best writers from season one like Liz Cackowski and Hilary Winston.
