Just finished reading the novel Satantango actually, is it justifiable splitting it into a 7 hour film? It feels like they could've made it longer,loved the chapters focusing on the doctor explaining the geographical layout of Hungary and the one with the two kids.

Too bad our filmmaking went to shit after '89. Today its nothing else just shitty romcoms, shitty-ass comedies with the "oh-so-hilarious" Galvölgyi and his friends. Everything is too safe, everything exist in a vacuum.
Oh I forgot shitty-ass art movies when people stare at a fucking horse or a table for 20 minutes and every dialog is about how they hate themselves and everything.
Seriously, just look at chez or serb filmmaking, hell even romanian films, they are way more far than us, they take risk, brave enough to reflect themselves and their history.
Seriously, this is why we don't have a movie about trianon for example, no one is brave enough to leave their little safe-zone and take risks, they are too afraid that they will be seen as far-right or too liberal.
