Can we have a thread about darker fantasy and medieval movies? I don't know how populated the genre is but some reccomendations would be nice.
Flesh + Blood is a great movie (with a few notable flaws) by the way and I highly recommend it
Ironclad is enjoyable
Damn, Flesh+Blood is so awesome. JJL is fantastic in it.
How are these dark? Dont take that wrong, I'm interested because I havent seen them.
Highly underrated, not at all what I expected in a good way.

This is the movie that gave me a rape fetish.

I know Flesh+Blood has numerous gang rape scenes and one seen where Jennifer Jason Leigh reverse rapes Rutger Hauer. Pretty fucked up, but fun movie.
The 1991 Robin Hood starring Patrick Bergin and Uma Thurman. It really depicts the Norman vs Saxon conflict well and it shows how fucked-up medieval society is.

there's not really much out there like that other than ironclad and black death, which were already mentioned.
you might try solomon kane. it's not great and it deviates pretty far from the short stories (written by robert e howard, the same guy who created conan the barbarian, another character that has never been faithfully adapted to tv or movies), but the production design is pretty dece and rachel hurd wood is cute as fuck

Flesh + Blood was born out of Paul Verhoeven's desire to make a movie that shows that life in the middle ages was actually fucking horrible

>solomon kane
That was surprisingly not terrible honestly.

Solomon Kane is alright.

Men cant be raped
The Name of the Rose is pretty good and fairly dark, although there isn't much action.

More of a mystery/detective movie but still a very good one.

>life in the middle ages was actually fucking horrible

To be fair medieval/fantasy is a setting not a genre
