I'm looking for movies like Dagon. I just watched it and loved the goofy humor combined with creepy atmosphere. Do other Lovecraft movies have this?

The only goofiness I recall is when he actually has to bolt the hinges back on the apartment door one at a time in order to create a barricade against the incoming horde. That was like 10 minutes into the movie.

Her entire plotline took all the "horror" out of the movie for me.
If a cute mermaid goddess saved my life from a horde of monsters and then asked me to live with her in her underwater kingdom for all eternity I wouldn't even hesitate to say yes and I could not empathize at all with how the guy freaked out and even tried to kill himself.
Also the fact that she occasionally has rows of razor sharp fangs and tentacle legs is not a deal breaker.
Uxia did literally nothing wrong.

At the Mountains of Madness was going to be done big-budget style but kept getting held up on major details. Last word was Prometheus was too similar (in that they're going down in a cave and discovering who created humanity, I guess) so it's been shelved. Maybe some day, it's the only story left I really want to see on the big screen.

also Guillermo Del Toro would not guarantee a PG 13 rating, that's the real reason.
He said he would try to make it as PG 13 as he could but he would not guarantee to the studio since the ratings board might not play fair (his are you afraid of the dark was not gory or anything and got rated R for being too scary)
