What did you guys think of this scene?
brilliant
/tv/ hates on it but it, Iron Man 1, and the Nolan movies have been the only good capekino in the last few years
Pure kino and too avant-garde for /tv/'s plebeian tastes. James Gunn is the Mozart of our era.
>>68074984
>dance off
>turd-blossom
>you said it yourself bitch, we're the guardians of the galaxy
pure kino
>>68075098
>Implying Man of Steel and Batman v Superman aren't the pinnacle of capekino
get fucked pleb
>>68075155
>mfw if this guy is serious
>>68074984
It was hilarious, but /tv/ hates it because "hurr durr muh grimdark"
>>68075146
>You said it yourself bitch, we're the guadians of the galaxy
This line was executed perfectly
>>68075192
I don't know if that guy is but I am, mos was legit the greatest capeshit beyond 2010
>>68074984
I thought it was mas fun, hombre. Y tu?
>>68075250
>Marvel movies are too silly and quippy
>DC movies are too grimdark and self-serious
is it actually possible to make a capeshit movie that /tv/ would like?
I liked it. GotG was almost like Galaxy Quest. It's at least 50% comedy, so a silly ending works. It's not top tier comedy, but it's goofy and fairly amusing.
This is the point in the flick where I literally began writhing around on the floor in agony, mouthing the words "this is reddit, this is memes, this is reddit, this is memes."
It was awful. I blacked out.
>>68075296
Yo
>>68075296
Pedoman with powers of feet
>>68075296
Yes
It was funny but they really wasted a scary, menacing villain. It honestly should have had an actual bollywood dance number at that point.
>>68075368
Batman Returns is the original capekino
>>68075341
Kick-Ass was hyper-violent trash. This is why off brand Marvel films don't work. Other filmmakers don't understand that comics should be fun.
>>68075368
have you watched that movie since you were 9? it's actually pretty bad
>>68075374
>but they really wasted a scary, menacing villain
it was the end of the movie
>>68074984
successfully managed to pretty much ruin literally the only intimidating villain a MCU film has had
but gotg is still probably the best mcu film
>>68075400
>implying this isn't "fun"
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_YL5qvpcfCE
>>68075349
>/tv/ likes feet
worst forced meme
>>68075419
wrong
>>68075470
Right. That movie deserves an oscar for somehow making a Batman movie wherein a bunch of penguins with RPGs emerge from the sewers to blow up the genitals of Gotham CIty's children boring.
>>68075296
>>68074984
MEME OFF BRO
>>68075430
>>68075374
I was hyped the scene they introduced him. Straight up murdering a guy for no damn reason than being just crazy. I thought they would keep him alive for Inhumans.
>>68075590
Raimi's and Burton's movies have by far the best tone of any comic book movies.
>>68074984
That was the exact scene that made me realize I would never have to purchase a ticket to another Marvel movie again. It was quite liberating, actually.
>>68075460
Great movie but it always bothered me that she killed that women when she was clearly trying to get away, I think that's the point though.
>>68075669
They really do. Spider-Man 2 is objectively the best one, but I watched 3 a few years back and couldn't believe how "Saturday Morning Cartoon" it felt. That movie is fun as fuck.
>>68075694
Yeah, Hit Girl and Big Daddy weren't exactly good people. I mean, they're awesome characters, but you're definitely supposed to be uncomfortable with a lot of their actions.

>>68075761
Sad the second was no where near as good as the first.
>>68075728
Imagine how good the Raimi Spider-Man movies could have been if they hadn't miscast Peter so badly
>>68075419
>calling cinematic masterpieces bad
Raised by wolves much?
>>68075568
how the fuck did Penguin get the blueprints for the Batmobile????
Only movie I've waked out of, and it was when this shit happened.
>>68075419
>it's actually pretty bad
It's not though. The atmosphere and costume designs are top notch. But most importantly, it had 3 villains whose actors gave it their best.
>>68075831
Nah, Tobey was perhaps a little old for the part, but he was just dopey and everyman enough that you were instantly on his side.
"We're the Guardians of the Galaxy, bitch," was infinitely worse than the dance off bit. The dance off bit was only annoying because of how abrupt the tone switched back and forth in that last 15 minutes.
If there had been a little scene where green lady and Pratt were beaten and on the ground and were panicking with "Shit! We've tried everything and we can't even put a dent in the guy. I don't know what we can do!" and then Pratt just looks up and tries something, anything, to buy more time, it would have been fine. Obviously, that's the thought behind the scene, but it needed to be smoothed out a bit in terms of tone in my opinion. It shoots back and forth between straight action scene, funny action scene, dramatic character moment, complete farce, straight played dramatic and grieving moment, then action scene, then complete fucking farce with dance off, then groan-inducing shit all in the span of like 10 minutes.
>>68076005
>"We're the Guardians of the Galaxy, bitch,"
but he didn't even say that, he said "You said it yourself bitch, we're the guardians of the galaxy" Did you even watch this masterpiece?
>>68075568
>boring
Not enough quips?
>>68075831
>not liking based Tobey
He kicks Andrew Garfield's ass so fucking bad.
>>68076113
No, there was plenty of humor. I just feel like the entire middle act of the movie drags like crazy.
>>68075778
I agree. The second one was a fucking mess. I honestly wish they just left the first one alone.
>>68075590
Raimi is the capeshit king.
>>68076113
>>68075419
Also, don't get me wrong, there's a lot I like about Batman Returns. I think it's beautiful, Catwoman and Penguin (while not exactly faithful to the source material) are fucking fantastic, I just feel that Tim Burton has the tendency to get lost sometimes in terms of narrative. He's kind of like a (much more competent) Snyder in that regard.
>>68074984
Appropriate. Fit the tone of the movie.
Marvel can't write interesting villains as usual.
The blue guy was the best actor.
They overdid the comedic tone in some parts, e.g. dance off bro.
Overall don't feel like rewatching it but by no means it's bad.
>>68074984
The thing that really bothers me about this scene is that the fucking villain guy gets actually gets distracted by his dancing. Keep the stupid dancing if you want, but goddamn have the scene actually make sense.
Also, would it kill them to design a villain that doesn't look so retarded and generic? Probably the most boring Marvel villain yet.
>>68075368
Batman Returns understands superhero comics
The characters have to take the situations seriously even though they are absurd.
If the characters are too absurd you end up with marvel
but on the other hand you can't have it be too serious or you end up with DC.
>>68077205
He got distracted because every single person he's interacted with in the movie up until that point has been either intimidated or trying to kill him. Then some fuckoff starts singing and dancing when he's about to enact genocide.
Absurdity is distracting.
>>68076058
Still a bit cringey. Not enough to ruin, but made me wince.
>>68077488
That's still retarded. Maybe you'd double take for a second or two, but ultimately that'd would be it. Anyone with average intelligence would see that it's a ploy and just continue on.
>>68077605
Maybe, but then they'd all be dead.
>>68077716
Yeah, I know. Which is why the scene should have been polished a bit more to be plausible.
ebin
simply ebin
>>68074984
I thought it was pretty funny, but incredibly cheesy at the same time
>>68077488
He's a warrior. He should know tricks and deception of foes.
>>68077605
I think you need to take his ego into account
He wanted them to flea in terror and beg for their lifes, instead he got a meme off
Hence the angry "what are you DOING?" or something like that
there are people ITT didn't cry like a lil bitch whenPeter reached out to hold his mom's hand
you have no heart
>>68078158
In 5 seconds I went from laughing to 100% feels with tears welling up in my eyes.
