It's still a pretty good movie that feels like its much shorter than its runtime, imo.

War of the Worlds suffers from bad pacing, but there are some very interesting ideas, like people comparing the Tripods to terrorists due to the recent 9/11 attacks, plus the first scene with the Tripod coming out of the ground is very well done.
