This is what happens when writers run out with good ideas but the money from the networks is still flowing so they milk it for whatever they can get.
its pretty forgettable so far i've had to re watch the first two eps just to remind myself i saw them.
it's not less funny imo, just more of the same, the impact of it was stronger when it was fresh and new
it's the same reason why most of you shitbirds say "hurr durr it got bad after season "x"", it's hard for a long running show to stay original or constantly re-invent itself

The creator, Adam Reed, only has enough good ideas for 2-3 seasons of any given show. After that, it's always downhill.
Archer Vice was fine for a one-season break from the usual, but they should have gone back to ISIS, even with a different name, without being CIA affiliated.

The characters stopped being characters. They became reduced to their catchphrases and they tried to introduce an overarching plot instead of wacky spy adventures. As soon as the show stopped focusing on "what if james bond was an even bigger asshole and also might be autistic" and switched it to "relationship drama", it started going downhill. It's a common symptom of shows being on too long. In this case, not because the content itself couldn't support longevity, but the creative minds behind it ran out of ideas real quick.

From last season i can;t remember what Archer and Lana were doing but there was this whole side plot of the gang going bowling where their van breaks down. I guess they wanted to give the whole cast more screen time but Cheryl and Pam just "being there" doesn't help anything. At least this season Cyril has a purpose

The first time I ever watched Sea Lab 2021, it was that episode where they did a shot for shot remake of an actual Sea Lab 2020 episode except for the last two minutes were everything went to shit in nuclear fashion.
It was pretty memorable for me because I was kinda drunk and I didn't know 2021 was a thing, so I just thought Adult Swim was showing old cartoons or something and then the finale happened.

Fricking problem with it is that it forced itself to be an ensemble comedy. Every character of the main cast has to appear on an episode no matter how unrelated they are to the main plot.
If only it explored its spy premise more and focused on more on Archer and more supporting characters from the agency (ISIS had a lot of interesting supporting chars), as the plot needs, it would've been a proper spy parody.
