The objective is to shape public opinion with the assumption that everyone needs "educating" and are too dumb to pick up on the flagrant advertising of their agenda. In this case, it was a short throwaway scene and it still took me out of the movie. The message is basically, "You're too dumb to find the right opinions by yourself, so we're going to give you direction by placing certain things in the media you consume."
SJW placement just seems dishonest and manipulative. Flagrant product placement annoys me whether it's a product I like or not. It takes me out of the ride that it should be, pauses everything to remind me what I'm supposed to think, and then expects me to jump back in with full enthusiasm.

Actually the only reason for the rule of two is because more sith lords inevitably started fighting each other rather than fighting the jedi.
So they got trimmed down to two where one has a master/teacher/mentor role and conveys the knowledge and guidance to an apprentice.
That way power is consolidated and they don't spend time and energy infighting.
That doesn't mean more sith can't exist, for instance the apprentice can think he learned enough and takes on a secret apprentice to overthrow the master together or the master might be disappointed at how the apprentice is developing and get a better one and have them fight it out and so on.
But in general the rule is there so they can get shit done instead of brawling all day and annihilating each other.

bad example, torture in the middle ages was a very codified and humane practice. Every other part of the procedure was arbitrary horseshit, but torture was used very thoughtfully, and not as a way of rushing through detective work.
The point of torture was to check if the accused was really guilty, the idea being that if he somehow manages to never yield to torture, then maybe the judge fucked up, which could be proof enough to release him.
Imagine if we had that today. You could get released after committing a murder if you manage to go through a few hours of torture without spilling your guts, even if there are eyewitnesses against you.
