How bad is it /TV/
>>
>>68046368
I remember David Bowie making weird noise and then vanishing with no explanation.
>>
I think it's pretty good. For several reasons it feels a different from the tv show, and not necessarily in a bad way. It has much less quirky humour, and much more pure Lynchian weird shit. So in general I enjoyed it quite a lot. Also a reason it feels different is because, contrary to the tv show, they had money for exteriors and not all the shoots are in closed settings, as in the show. Also, I had the slight impression that some places like Laura's house were different, but I might be wrongt.

You have to experience Lynch to an emotional level.
With that in my mind, FWWM is really good cause you can truly feel the caothic and demonic nature of the events that brought to Laura Palmer's demise.

I really liked it.
>>
>>68046460
So if I enjoyed the main surreal aspects of the show would I theoretically enjoy this film?
>>
>>68046368
Pretty bad, it was a pointless film with weird shit being weird for the sake of being weird, celebrity cameos just because, nothing new added to the franchise, a different Donna, all the other characters were glossed over just so we can see Laura be a slut.
>>68046398
this scene had terrible editing.
>>
>>68046535
Definetly. The film is directed by Lynch and it has many more surreal aspects, including some shit that only appears on the film and it's pretty good.

If you liked the Lynchian part of Twin Peaks, you'll like it.
>>
>>68046368
Watched the uncut version not to long ago, it's very unfocused and goes all over the place, basically just a compilation of prequel scenes. The original version is about the same as far as I remember. The scenes with Laura and Leland are good though, and the surrealism is on par with the TV show. It's an alright film, I guess.

It's goddamn great, you fucking plebs. Lynch's masterpiece.
>>
>>68046368
It's fucking fantastic, but people didn't like it because it showed them Twin Peaks isn't as nice of a place as the show led them to believe. Really gives context to Bobby's rant on Laura's burial: everyone knew she was in deep shit, no one did anything.
>>
it's a great pleb filter.

>>
>>68046368
It's great. I'd even argue that it is better than any one individual episode from the show is. As long as you're willing to accept it for being different from the tv show, you'll like it.
>>
>>68046368
gave me some serious feels
>>
>>68046368
it's not bad at all
>>
>>68046368
It's the opposite of bad.
>>

like...why?

Lets be honest, Lynch just dreamed that shit and went "well thats pretty surreal, better put it in one of my movies"
>>
>>68046368 (OP)
Lynch's best movie after The Straight Story

wow, now we know where Mike Stoklasa got his concept of intentionally terrible line delivery from.

Kino.

Unadulterated pleb repellent.
>>
It's great for the new agents but then it's boresville once we get back to twin peaks, oh apart from some God-tier Ray wise.
>>
>>68046558
>celebrity cameos just because
There's literally one, and the person in question was an accomplished screen actor in his own right whose style and demeanour fit the world of Twin Peaks really well.
>>
>>68046368
Lynch's best work
>>
>>68048333
they meet at airports in the middle of nowhere and watch some girl dancing to deliver some info that shouldnt even be secret instead of just slipping a guy a note or something?

I saw Wild At Heart recently for the first time and that film was a pile of shit, why is it Lynch always verges between Brilliance and Shit in what he makes?
>>
It's just a mid-western tale of incest. Nothing more, nothing less.
>>
>>68048691
>mid-western
>>
Ok, not OP here.
I always wanted to get into Twin Peaks, but never got around to watch it.

So where do I start? With the pilot or the film?
>>
>>68048740
Watch the TV series first. The film spoils the backstory to Laura and other stuff.
>>
>>68048759
This. Do yourself a favor and watch this.
>>
>>68048434
>instead of just slipping a guy a note or something?
A note is a physical piece of information. A physical piece of information is at risk of getting in the wrong hands.
