Post films you found disappointing

I'll start
I thought this was Chris Evans the first time I saw this poster
>>
Times that you were the driver.
>>
>>68041048
Everyone thought the first hangover was hilarious, but I hated it. Drive is rad though

Felt like forced fan fiction, which really took me out the experience
>>
>>68041072
The asian ruined it
>>
>>68041048

its a cozy movie with action in it
>>
>>68041295
The main reason drive is disappointing to me is that there's like 4 action scenes in the whole movie and the rest is emotional cuckshit with the single mom and her mexican kid.

The movie was more about Irene, Benicio, and Standard than the Driver, and I think that's what bothers me. Still a great film tho.

I expected the whole movie to be about schoolgirls fighting against robots, I was really disapointed
>>
>>68041853
This movie is in dire need of a fan recut that also removes the shitty music too
>>
>>68041048
Cuck
>>
>>68041093
This, a lot.
My general feeling for that SW movie is basically that is has good action scenes moments but everything storywise was horrible.
It felt like it was trying too hard at getting 'fanboy emotionally nostalgic moments'.
>>
>>68041752
this. I went in expecting a sort of hitman/transporter for patricians but after the intro scene there wasn't much of that and it just became a weak drama with little dialogue
>>
>>68041946
Have you watched the Director's Cut? I've heard it improves the film immensely.
>>
>>68041048
you sound like a pleb for even being excited about an extremely unremarkable and generic actor not being in it
>>
>>68041048

I've seen drive already but for a second thought was Daniel Craig instead.
>>
>>68042568
Is it weird that I would have preferred a story from the perspective of R2D2 and C3P0 again to the whole of TFA? It doesn't really feel like Star Wars without them, no matter how many references.

BB8 on it's own doesn't count
>>
a place beyond the pines is a better gossling movie, half heist, half shoot'em up movie

I can't really imagine how changing the music or even a directors cut would be able to improve the fucking terrible action sequences in the later half of the film or improve the dead boring asylum plot.
>>
>>68041048

I thought it'd be like hotline miami.

I mean it's good, but since everything about the synthwave meme and that game seem to be inspired by it, I expected something like that.
>>
>>68042986
I played hotline miami after and it scratched the itch Drive couldn't scratch

I'm not sure if I should forgive Peter Jackson for this and blame the studio instead. It might have been better if Guillermo Del Toro stayed
>>
>>68042790
I dunno. Maybe. Seeing R2 and C3PO was just a 'oh look, it's them' emotional reaction from me rather than the intended HOLY FUCK, WOOWW IT'S RD2D AND C3PO, HOLY SHIT FUCKFUCKFUCKFUCK.

It's really weird because everyone I know has this reaction concerning the movie and I'm an insane SW fan and I felt nothing.
>>
>>68043176
I watched The Hobbit: The Tolkien Edit instead of watching those three movies. Very good movie but it felt too light hearted even though it tried to have the same tone as the LOTR.
The book was more a lighthearted story that got mature with LOTR and the movie felt like the opposite, a mature tone trying to be more kid friendly but not getting there.
Not sure how shit the actual 3 movies ended up being.

4 and a half hour movie out of 9 hours for three movies. I wonder how much bullshit was cut out of the actual three movies. I'm somewhat glad I never paid to watch neither of those three movies.

What is it with this board and facial blindness?

It's because fanservice doesn't work on you. The only moment I felt that 'star wars is back' feeling was during the opening crawl, which ended quickly when I realised they used a different orchestra for the music.
>>
>>68043365
>It's because fanservice doesn't work on you.
Huh. I wonder if that's good or bad.

>when I realised they used a different orchestra for the music.
Really? I didn't even notice. I felt that it has some new music but basically nothing stood out like any of the original movies. Hell, even the prequel movies had some chill music.

90% of the time I can understand the hype around a movie, but this one didn't do anything for me...at all.
>>
>>68044176
Speaking of American Beauty, that James Bond movie made by the same director was pretty fucking boring and shit the entire time.
>lol old versus new themes
>the opening introduction shot of the main villain was great, 10/10
The whole movie was shit. Completely disappointing and shit movie.
>>
>>68044103
because it elevated cinema to a higher art
>>
>>68044103
they are just memeing. no one thinks this movie is good

>>68044256
I liked it a lot but you have to be in a cretin kind of mood to watch it. Like a relaxed state of mind. Otherwise it just seems too long and boring until the part with Hall comes along.

Because he's an objectivist and if you know anything about that shit, you'd know that they hate having their shit touched, yet he's stuck in the weird position where he's good enough at what he does, keeps having people interfere with his work (studios telling him to reduce the movie length like BvS, or making Sucker Punch PG13) but also needed to help for him to keep his movies concise.
He really just needs someone to keep an eye on him and help yet but not tell him which brush to use on his art. So when he releases his director's cut, you see his full vision, for better or worse, which gives his work a more complete outlook rather than the final product.

Holy shit, that's Elizabeth Banks!

I do, HAL is my favourite villain of all time aswell.

HAL is boring honestly.

Did I really just read that about Zack Snyder, of all people?
>>
>>68044221
James bond really sucked. It felt like it wanted to do a commentary on the whole bond kind of thing but instead of making bond vulnerable until in the end he breaks he somehow still gets validated as old but still good. It is like they wanted to do something different but in the end were too afraid to actually go through with it. Seeing an old classy spy getting chewed up by the modern spy world would have been better.
>>
>>68047224
I agree, it was soooo boring.
>>
>>68041093
>>68043176
these two
While hobbit is just a CGI mess, TFA is a horrible regurgitated nonsense. I didn't expect it to be that bad.
>>
>>68047224
Only good part was the Train fight. Rest was utter shit.
>>
>>68048059
He's a competent film maker but fucks up too much, goes too big and too stylistic, but he can get the job done. 300 was good. Watchmen was unfilmable and he did it somehow (it would never be as good as the comic but it still did good) and Dawn of the Dead is arguably the best zombie movie ever made.
>>
>>68048093
The real problem is that after the cold war, and especially after 9/11, espionage lost its purpose. I'd love to see an old classy spy get chewed up by a Boune type new spy world and yet somehow shows that there's still some merit to the old way of things, but they try to get the middle ground and it pisses both the Bond fans who don't see it as being classy enough and too much action realistic and the people who want more realistic action and doesn't deliver.

It's pretty sad that Casino Royale, the very first Daniel Greg Bond movie, is the only decent one and it wasn't really good.
>>
>>68049086
>Boune
Jason Bourne*
>>
>>68049086
>I'd love to see an old classy spy get chewed up by a Boune type new spy world and yet somehow shows that there's still some merit to the old way of things
But that is what the movie is like. He is like a relic, he cant pass the tests, he cant save the girl by shooting the apple of her head (or w/e it was), he cant save his superior. However he still gets validated by continuing with the secret service. It would be better if he either dies being oldfashioned in a new world.

It tries to be that but doesn't.
>arghh I can't get my shit back together
>well whatever it's the climax and I can shoot well again
Wasted potential hurts more than shit.
>>
>>68042568
The first part of the film, before they run into Han Solo, is great. That's when it gets stuck in the mud.
>>
>>68049274
>>It tries to be that but doesn't.

Yes thats what I meant. He should have just failed in the end because the world has moved on. But I dont think a director can kill james bond just like that.
>>
>>68047224
Yeah, it really felt like the spectre of a better film
>>
>>68049086

They've tried that with several Bond movies
>The Living Daylights
>Goldeneye
>Casino Royale
>Skyfall
>Spectre

It's basically the default Daniel Craig Bond movie plot.

I dunno. I raged pretty fucking hard when Rey helped that not-R2.
>droids are never given any fucks, Luke doesn't give a fuck about them, but Rey somehow just cares about this droid she never saw about harrased because the plot demands it
>black guy just goes full NOPE NOPE NOPE after seeing a massacre which makes me question how come he's the only one freaking out
>the falcon being literally in the middle of nowhere, Rey saying it's a pile of junk (lololol, nostalgic reference!!!)
>the Falcon being tracked by basically EVERYWHERE and by EVERYONE in the galaxy despite being a fucking smuggler ship who's sole intent is to be sneaky
>the Falcon literally being lost for untold number of years or time despite being fucking trackable by literally everyone in the galaxy somehow (How?? Why? it is a reference to it being trackable in ep 4???)
And then it goes complete DEAD once the cantina arrives. People try to play it off as ''oh it's down time after the action scene'' but it's just so absolutely boring, shit, uninteresting and that orange yoda tries to be force talk bullshit and just comes off as tryhard fake.
Also the part where Han goes out of fucking hyperspace to get the the not-Death Star to land on it. THAT'S NOT HOW FUCKING HYPERSPACE WORKS HOLY FUCK. You can't eyeball coming out of hyperspace, Han even says so in ep 4. Jesus fuck.

I still stand by my point that everything plot related is absolutely shit but the actions scenes are damn well done.
>>
I think the real problem with the new Star Wars movie is that it was rushed to shit but had so much money that it was able to CG the action scenes by the deadline.

>>68049544
Oh, and also how the Falcon is somehow trackable by literally everyone basically immediately after being used which makes me wonder why no one has ever flied the ship.

I still maintain that it's because of 'fanboy emotionally nostalgic moments' so that Rey can say that it's a pile of junk. Even though the ship flies well and there's no reason why anyone wouldn't take that ship to fly.

I really don't want to think about SW anymore.
