This is the best horror film ever made. Prove me wrong.
it's clearly a terror film you dumb fuck
>>68039443
I agree. It's by far my favorite.
>>68039443
It Follows is better.
>>68039603
Nice shitpost.
>>68039443
Truuuuuu
>>68040018
Look at this virgin. Look at him and laugh.
>>68039443
It's not directed by Lucio Fulci.
>Disgusting gore
>Remote setting
>End of the world outcome
>Badass main characters
>Legit scary as fuck scenes
The remote setting alone scares me. This movie had the perfect location and set up for a horror film. It's too bad AVP sucked dog shit as it had the same recipe but fucked it up by making it some kind of mortal kombat crap.
>>68040018
(you)
>>68039443
>The Thing
>Never Says "Its Clobbering Time"
Nigga worst movie ever.
>>68039443
>>68039603
>hard terror flicks
>>68040684
Alien has probably the best buildup of any horror flick but it falls apart a bit after it just turns into a slasher flick once the alien is born.
>>68040779
Yeah, but turning into a slasher isn't necessarily a bad thing. It still retains it's subtlety, atmosphere, and tension.
If you could label it a slasher flick, it's the best slasher flick ever.
Definitely Alien or the thing
>>68039443
Stoker exists and there's no stupid flailing tentacles in it.
>>68039443
>the dog at the beginning (DER HUND)
>the music
>the acting
>NO STUPID WOMEN TO MAKE STUPID MISTAKES THAT GET EVERYONE KILLED
>amazing story (who was the thing when)
>the end
>the special effects (still looks scarier than modern cgi)
I would argue that Alien is almost as good, but technically Alien is more sci-fi than horror, whereas The Thing is more horror than Sci-fi.
>>68042064
>STUPID MISTAKES THAT GET EVERYONE KILLED
But everyone got killed, dipshit
>>68042123
...fighting to the death instead of dying because of hiding in a stupid location or running to call for help.
>>68039443
You have the right director but the wrong film
>itt plebs
This will be unironically held in the same breath as Rosemarys Baby and The Exorcist one day.
>>68042161
Army of Darkness was the best out of the trilogy but the original Evil Dead will always be the single most influential horror film ever made.
That being said, Raimi should never have fucking touched Spider-Man. Ever.
>>68039443
I can't, cause you are right. You are so right. Hold me, bro.
>>68040250
that poster is beautiful
>>68039603
You are clearly the dumb fuck here.
>>68040250
The beyond is a great film, no doubt...but The Thing is just better.
>>68042201
Absolutely
>mahnigga.gif
>>68039443
I love horror more than any other genre. I've seen some terrible shit and I have seen some great, memorable horror. The Exorcist is the best. It has stood the test of time and rendered all other exorcism movies obsolete the moment it came out.
>>68039443
The only thing bad about it is the name. Might as well just call it "It". Oh wait
>>68039603
This isn't funny.
>did I marathon a horror feature or a terror kino XD
>>68042679
>"Have you seen It?"
>"What?"
>"It"
Stupidest fucking title ever.
I would argue that the Conjuring is better and is the last good horror movie to have come out.
>>68042609
It's an utter disgrace seeing people on here asking if a torrent is out yet because they are either too lazy, too poor, too fat, or too stupid to go see it in theatres.
>>68042304
Why not? His Spider-man movies are probably the second best treatment of capeshit on the big screen.
>>68042679
What the hell would you call the thing?
>>68039443
>prove me wrong
I'm sorry I had to do that to you anon
>"have you seen the thing?"
>"what thing?"
>>68042123
Due to the severity of their situation and the ruthlessness of the thing.
Thats what I love about "the thing". A group of cowboys/scientists do everything they can to stop it and they succeed (or not) at the end, despite overwhelming odds and nowhere to run.
Name another film where despite the skill/intelligence of the crew they still lose.
Only "Alien" comes to mind.
>>68042142
>hiding in a stupid location or running to call for help.
they are in south pole, where will they call for help?
also prequel has MEW. it was great also. are you gay?
>>68042811
I'm not a writer so maybe I'd call it "Spooky Snow Adventure."
>>68042064
>STUPID MISTAKES THAT GET EVERYONE KILLED
is there even a movie that doesn't do this?
>>68042811
the body snatcher from below the tundra
>>68042811
Imposter at the End of the World
Not only am I unable to prove you wrong but it's my favorite movie of all time.
>tfw no money to build Animatronic replica of oneself and then have it go The Thing in public/on camera
>>68042811
Biting Cold
>>68042901
The thing doesnt have women.
Unless you count "the thing" as a metaphor for women being a lifeform that imitates men's ideals and preference, in order to slowly absorb us over time and eventually make us their beta bucks.
It's great, but Texas Chain Saw is the best of all time.
The Thing is probably around 4th or 5th for me.
>>68039443
Not only the best horror film ever made but one of the best films ever made in general. Top 5 for me.
>>68043167
Apparently the percentage of lines spoken by women versus those spoken by men is relevant to something despite being obviously completely irrelevant to anything.
So The Thing is shit.
>>68043019
I like it, but that title has more of a twilight zone feel than a thing feel. I think The Thing is a perfect title for the tone and feeling of the movie.
>>68042679
>>68044216
"The Thing" totally fits. To me it sounds like both pulpy-sci-fi and fucked up body horror... which is what the movie is.
>>68043019
It's a better title, but it probably wouldn't have sold tickets.
>>68040018
It follows was good, but it ain't shit compared to the thing. I feel like the fact that the horror genre has been 95% garbage in the past decade has made the non garbage stuff (like It Follows) seem way better than it actually is.
