Swedish Fish, since we already have a coupon for a free popcorn bucket
>>68026772
This was my oldest blockbuster memory
gummy bears 4 life
>>68026772
tfw they never had enough copies of the hit movies, therefore creating tension whilst persuing their swiss cheese film collection.
>>68026820
it's a popcorn PEPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
>be little kid
>had to close my eyes every time i walked past pic related in the movie aisle
>>68026772
>game: chameleon twist 2
>movie: lord of the rings: fellowship of the ring OR shrek or some pokemon movie
>candy: nestle's crunch
>>68026929
Were you me as a kid?
>>68026772
The rental plan I filed with my agency lists me, mum, my sister here, but only one piece of candy!
>>68026986
Kek
>>68026772
My parents never let me get candy. We had popcorn and a popcorn maker at home so that was our movie snack. Sometimes ice cream.
Milk duds
HAIL TO THE KING BABY
>>68026772
ANyone remember those boxes they used to give out if you rented three movies or something? God, I loved those things. Full of candy and other shit.
the feeling when you realize a newly released game that you assumed would be all rented out but there's one magical copy left just for you is glorious
>>68026986
Who paid you to stock Dr. Pepper?
>"here anon, this one is on sale"
>>68027254
that was the first game I ever played where I realized companies sometimes just put out garbage to trick you, good thing I only rented it at BB
>>68027215
If I take the lid off, would it go flat?
>>68027215
>>68026986
Was getting a 5 year old movie part of your plan?
>>68027388
Of courshe!
>>68026929
>be 16 year old me
>have to crab walk/speed walk/look away every time I walked by pic related because it came with a figurine replica of Billy the puppet
;-;
>>68027325
I rented it too
I can remember having my neighbor buddy come over to play, only to realize that it was literally an unplayable pile of garbage
I haven't seen him in 15 years;_;
>>68027388
It doesn't matter what we rent
What matters is our late fee
>>68027458
Why don't youcall him.
So many comfy memories.
>>68026929
it was the frighteners for me
>>68026772
Fuck Blockbuster!
Those pimple-ridden, squeeky-voiced, angsty teenagers running my local Blockbuster slapped me with a fine saying that I didn't return The Prophecy when I did the prior visit.
>>68026772
Remember when we were like "fuck blockbuster, fuck hollywood video, they're fucking dinosaurs i fucking hate their fees and muh netflix queue and selection."
And now we have Redbox and its garbage and shitty selection.
I seriously fucking miss video stores. Even the ones in the middle of rural nowhere.
>>68027654
convenience > nostalgia
>be kid
>browsing through video rental store
>browse through horror section
>box art of some horror movie (can't remember the name) with some half naked girl using a knife as a stripper pole
>early childhood boner
>>68027509
Have we rewound the tape?
>mention the movie Munchie to a girl i'm on a date with
>she tells me her family rented that movie in the late 90s
>they forgot to return it
>10 years later, they find the tape under a couch
>her father brings back tape
>blockbuster manager tells him he owes $700 in late fees and that he MUST pay
>father just laughs and walks away
>>68027654
Family Video still exists, at least where I'm at.
>>68027870
>father just laughs and walks away
Alpha
Who /mike and ike/ here?
>>68027759
It was convenient to walk/drive a couple minutes to browse aisles and aisles of well organized movies and sometimes the clerks were movie buffs and recommended some great shit.
BTW you're a faggot
Man I miss blockbuster. I used to bike down there every day one summer and it was the best
Anyone else used to read the backs of all the video games in the vidya isle while their parents waited in line to rent out the latest new release?
>>68028004
>go to Amazon Video
>type name of movie
>rent for $2.99
Cheaper, faster, and no chance of late fees or it being sold out.
>>68028074
God i love the future
>>68028074
I discovered Troma films by wandering around blockbuster looking at VHS covers.
I don't think you even have a soul.
>>68026865

>>68027819
oh yes sexy horror movie covers were the go-to every visit. something about the combination
I plan on getting a VCR to digital converter soon. How can I not worry about any copyright on my old family tapes?
>>68026986
So was picking the new release movie part of your plan?

>>68028537
One of the worst candies it was like eating tar.
>>68028578
you're supposed to keep it in your mouth long enough for the chocolate to dissolve and the caramel to soften, then you use your molars to chew, i have a feeling your plebeian ass took a handful of them, threw them in your mouth, and bit down as hard as you could with your front teeth
>>68028623
No i took two and tried to chew them with my back teeth thank god i didn't have any fillings or they would have been ripped right the fuck out.
>>68026929
Ah, those Child's Play covers.
>>68028680
I did that once with laffy taffy. Didn't hurt at all but I ran my tongue over my tooth and realized it had crumbled.
>>68028680

What do you mean? The FBI isn't going to bust your door down for taping VCR tapes
>>68030019
I know that, but when I tried to copy copyrighted tapes onto DVD's to then rip onto my PC, it stopped me with the copyright issue. Will I get this problem with an external device that plugs into my PC?
>>68026929
you don't want a balloon, kid?
>>68030118
I seriously doubt it
>>68029766
Maybe if your parents took you to the video shop when you were a kid you wouldn't have turned out such a proper bitter cunt
>>68026772
>box
flippin 'eck lad I only got a small bag of M&M's if I were lucky
i never asked for candy. candy is degenerate
>>68026772

Man that Genie world level could fuck right off. You can't beat that shit in a weekend!!! Nigga, I got a soccer game- St. Greg's is playing us at St. Ann's! Ain't nobody got time to be fucking around with some genie type bullshit.
Me and my dad would go down every Tuesday after he finished work cause it was $1 for all weekly rentals. One for that night and one for the weekend. Usually he picked one and I picked one. When I was little he would always say no. Sometimes I would get a game if he was feeling nice. Every weekend until I finished school and moved out of home. Where have the days gone ;_;
>>68032598
>say no to lollies/chocolate I meant
>go to blockbuster
>black man robs the store
I was pretty scared tbqh
>>68032037
I always got candy at the drugstore a few doors down in the same shopping center as my Blockbuster. I could buy about 3 or 4 times as much shit there as I could get for the same amount of money at Blockbuster.
>>68026772
Scooby-Doo fruit snacks.
I remember playing Pokemon Snap and printing stickers of my photos.
There was something magical about going to Blockbuster. Maybe it's the nostalgia but I loved exploring the aisles and picking out what movie or game I wanted to rent and getting a bag of popcorn or candy.
I remember my local Blockbuster had cool merchandise too, like the Clow Book from Cardcaptor Sakura with all the Clow cards.
I always got a baby bottle pop. the best was going after school on a friday
I would always get those hollow balls of chocolate with mystery hard candies inside. Can't fucking remember what they were called.
>>68034801
wonder balls
>>68032919
the blue ones were so tasty
That was my first job. I'm glad they're gone.
>>68026772
Can you please discuss this back on reddit? Thanks

Buy a tv tuner card for your computer. Connect the vcr to its coax connection. Problem solved.
>>68026929
>tfw you would prep yourself to go down the horror aisle and try not to look at the covers just to do it
>>68032637
Why would your dad say no to chocolate lolies? Was he racist?
This exists yet?
>>68035169
No, not yet. You're too early
>>68035026
Has /pol/ not edited this guy into his own video yet? I forget the video he's in so it's impossible for me to find.
>>68034861
I preferred the red ones, but blue was my second favorite.
>>68027073
