I liked it. I wouldn't call it a classic, but it's a thoroughly entertaining sci-fi/action movie, and wasn't as mindnumbingly stupid as most blockbuster movies tend to be.
The only thing I would have wanted to see more of were the combat scenes on the beach where he gradually becomes a better warrior and uses his knowledge of the future to his advantage. I felt they glossed over this.
Aside from the Alphas, I also wasn't a big fan of the alien designs, as they were just too outlandish. Starship Troopers did a better job of creating alien enemies that felt like a genuine threat, rather than a mess of flailing, physics defying CGI tentacles with no tangible form.
The combat suits were also pretty stupid, considering they provided no defensive bonus. They should have been armored suits.
But yeah, that's mostly nitpicking.

If you still play videogames, yeah.

Lol ok.

It was pretty much the best possible outcome of an American adaption of a Japanese LN

all time travel shit is the same, seen one, seen them all. the only thing this as going for it is power armor

even mainstream shit like this that would've been popular 10 years ago gets cast aside in favor of capeshit. truly it is the most despicable "genre"

>another fucking time travel movie that rips off groundhog day in a action/scifi setting
first source code, now this. stop shilling this overrated trash.
>>
There's no way anyone over 15 actually likes this movie.

>"dude, what if we make a movie like a videogame where when you die you get to try again until you learn how to do it but there is no checkpoint so you have to start it all from the beginning just like all the hardcore real games not like CoD shit games so it's a movie for DA REEL G4M3RZ!!"
each generation has the Tron it deserves.

>Starship Troopers

Now that's a true classic. It works great both as a straight action movie, and even better as a parody on military facism. Also the effects still hold up even tough it's 20 years old.

I loved that movie when it came out. I still like it, and I've always loved Verhoven's weird, surreal take on propaganda, fascism and commercialism, which is most prominently displayed in Robocop.
Ironically, the book Starship Trooper was pro-fascism.

If they managed to conclude it in some clever way that actually made sense it would be legitimately good.
