Finally, people are waking up to the reality that Christians across this great nation are being persecuted daily.
>>
>>68000335
They probably legitimately will be soon. The cuckold governor of Georgia just sold religious freedom for some sweet Disney money.
>>
I'm an atheist and not American and I think Christians are being persecuted in America.

See: kids being told to take off cross necklaces in school, imagine if they were muslim children and told they can't pray, what do you think the reaction would be like?
>>
You can find diversity even here

One thing I hate more than I hate my people is the Christians among our people. Asian Christians are truly pathetic
>>
>b-but you dirty Christians persecute Muslims since 9/11

yeah, we didn't like it when they killed and continue to kill a bunch of people in the name of Allah, but name the last time a radical group of Christians did anything close to it since the crusades? Also we don't go to the middle east and demand they change to Christianity, like they do to non-Muslim places
>>
Christianity was spread by the blood of (real) martyrs, a pity to watch them behaving as petty as SJWs.

Honestly, if people want to watch a Christian movie, they should go see BvS. Personally I think it did a great job, as did Man of Steel, of introducing Chritian themes into mainstream popular culture, it is surprising something like that would come out of a big studio, when Hollywood is usually quite left.

You should stop using the plural when it happened once. You seriously think that one gay couple suing one Christian bakery is evidence of some sort of anti-Christian bias? It's happened more than once. This is just a single example of christian persecution. He asked for an example,, by providing even one, he's shown to be wrong.

Yes.

>Maybe it was this one gay couple in the entire world that cares enough to sue.
What? This has also happened multiple times.

>In your scenario, they should have gone to a Muslim bakery afterwards and sued them?
Why do liberals think like this. No. The muslim bakeries just serve to juxtapose with the christian ones and shows the liberal double-think. If it's bad for christians, why is it okay for muslims? Why? Because the fags know they can get away with doing it to christians, but not muslims.

>Also, how can you tell whether a bakery is Christian or not before going there?

>>
>>68003934
>Why do liberals sympathize with Islam but bash Christianity?

This is a fairly new myth.

Before 9/11 the liberals went on and on and on about the plight of women in Muslim countries. I volunteered for UNICEF back in the 90s and people were constantly trying to raise awareness about female genital mutilation in Africa, the killing of female babies in India and china, and shit like that. Muslim abuse of women was a major thing, and honor killings in western countries was raising alarm bells about the dangers of radical (traditional) islam.

Opinionated conservatives would often show up at fund raising events and lecture us on how we had no right to criticize these other cultures and stick our noses where they don't belong. "Stick to feeding the children and stop trying to educate girls in those other countries". This was a very common complaint.

Liberals hated muslims, especially the saudis. They hated how rape needed 4 male witnesses, and how women were forbidden to even drive a car in Suadi Arabia. Everything about the religion pissed them off.

After 9/11 the anti-muslim talking points were hijacked almost overnight by American conservatives. The same people who told us to ignore muslims were now using our own pamphlets and short documentaries as propoganda as America went to war.

To be clear I am more of a centrist, and I was doing the unicef thing because of the 80/20 male female ratio among volunteers. it was an easy way to get laid back in college. I can speak from experience that they were very vocal of Islam.

dude, I grew up christian in western european country. I went to a christian school and even there I was laughed at as a kid because I had to go to church on sunday.

American christians are a majority and they're constantly whining because they can't use statefunds meant for everybody for the expression of their private believes. They're worse than Black Lives Matter in that they have even less reason to complain.Christian have a pretty good deal in the US if you ask me.

They aren't "persecuted" though. They are made fun of but honestly that's not the problem, it's that somehow it's ok yet making fun of Judaism or Islam isn't.

300 years ago a girl in bergen was burned alive on orders from the clergy after witnesses claimed she had been to a witch meeting, talked to a demon, used magic to kill several infants and for killing a pear tree

another girl was killed after some men died in a storm and they blamed her for summoning the storm

christians better pray to their imaginary sky daddy that we don't prosecute them. they deserve to hang every one of them

Which theory is this?

Time began when the singularity began to expand. There was no "before the big bang" because time did not exist yet. Time is linked to gravity.

Asking what came before the singularity is the same is asking what came before god. This is no "before" god as time did not exist before creation occurred.

"nothing existed and then it exploded" is just an internet meme, not an actual creation theory.

Sentient life did emerge on Earth due to a happy accident it was a result of eumetazoa evolving nerve cells. Nervous systems evolved since then culminating in the human brain. Most planets don't have a happy accident where sentience emerges though there are probably others that do. Yes, we should enjoy what we have well we still can. Our sentience is a result of our functioning nervous system and when it goes out there is nothing.

Holy shit, this. My parents live in that school district, it's filled with batshit insane parents.

The assignment was never meant to make kids renounce god. There were a bunch of claims and children had to identify which were "facts," which were "commonly held beliefs", and which were "opinions."

The kid wanted to say God was a fact, but that's a fucking incorrect answer. The existence of God isn't a fact, but apparently the kid's parents were too stupid to know the definition of a fact.

>"I believe that I am acting in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator: by defending myself against the Jew, I am fighting for the work of the Lord.."
My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. In boundless love as a Christian and as a man I read through the passage which tells us how the Lord at last rose in His might and seized the scourge to drive out of the Temple the brood of vipers and adders.

>"There may have been a time when even parties founded on the ecclesiastical basis were a necessity. At that time Liberalism was opposed to the Church, while Marxism was anti-religious. But that time is past. National Socialism neither opposes the Church nor is it anti-religious, but on the contrary, it stands on the ground of a real Christianity.

He was against the church, as are most dictators, simply because dictators don't like to share power. He wanted a secular state and he wanted to drive out the powerful catholic church that had opposed him for years.

How is it not? If they want to run a christian bakery with christian morals why shouldn't they be allowed to? If you don't like the policies of a business you can shop somewhere else. Instead the government either forces them to make a cake that goes against their beliefs or shuts them down entirely. How is that not persecution?

If I could change the rules for how my business operates under anti-discrimination legislation then why couldn't I just say I think it's against my religion to pay taxes? Or against my religion to clean up my dog shit?

The judicial system has determined it isn't an undue burden on bigots to bake cakes for gay dudes, but it is an undue burden on gay citizens to have to face open discrimination.

It's the carrying out of anti-discrimination laws.
If you have a shop you can not discriminate between costumers on the basis of their sexuality, because everyone should be treated equally.

You can be mad about it, but it works the other way around too. If a gay couple has a shop they wouldn't be able not to serve you on the basis of your religion.

yeah that's the thing with these kind of laws. The freedom of not being assaulted goes against my freedom of punching people in the face.
It just depends what society values more, the freedom of being treated equally, or the freedom of selecting costumer based on my own preconceptions.

If the only product I want to sell are cakes that uphold christian values and the government says I have to also make cakes that go against those values then I don't ultimately have a choice in what products I make.

>Why do you keep arguing in favor for it?
I'm not. I think it is a bad thing. There are plenty of things that I find morally deplorable but believe should be legal.

>The freedom of not being assaulted goes against my freedom of punching people in the face.
The initiator of force here is the gay couple and the state. They are coming into these peoples' lives and demanding they perform a service for them.

Where did this idea come from that you would have to make cakes with gay couples on it? Nobody in this thread said that.
Only thing you can't do, is refuse service to people.

Fair point. I'm not aware of the specific case and made a mistake. I still think if they want to run a christian business that only caters to customers that don't offend their values they should be allowed to.
