Individual talent won't really matter other than aesthetic style.
These movies are being manufactured by hundreds of people in a think tank, not just two hack writers.
That's why the stories are all bland but serviceable to the majority of audiences.
Edwards is competent with visuals, not great with the performers. You can tell this clearly from the trailer, which has good aesthetics.
