For me, part of it was I knew right from the trailer and Rudd casting that it was going to be a comedy hero movie. I think as a comedy it had fewer "quips" and more real jokes.
Also GotG kinda confused me, tone-wise. It's like sometimes it's a comedy, sometimes I think "Whoa seems to be taking itself really seriously now", then it goes to make another cheesy line out of no where and throw me off again. Ant-Man never really stopped being a lighthearted comedy-superhero movie.
I can't really explain it, but simply put I guess Ant-Man had a better flow to me and it tried to do less.
