It's in the top 20 for sure, and you could make an argument for top 10
>>
>>67939190

Close Encounters is also extremely dull

Anyone who actually thinks this film is in the top 100, let alone the top 20 is a fucking pleb
>>
I don't like movies where children die

> literally perfect

Spielberg has said he is now embarrassed by the rubber shark scenes when it climbs onto the boat.
he has also considered doing a George Lucas and "fixing" it with CGI but was talked out of it.
>>
>>67940287
James Cameron wanted to do the same thing with the first two Terminator films, but was also talked out of it. It's an obvious sign that someone is more of a businessman than a filmmaker

Fuck Spielberg, the only non-mediocre film he ever made was Raiders
>>
>>67939164
Great movie
>>
>>67939164
The acting is a bit off in some scenes, apart from Robert Shaw of course who was perfect cast as Quint. Dreyfuss' shenanigans are contemporary of the time it was made and gives the movie a dated feel. Not that the movie doesn't still hold up or anything, I love it.
