BVS can be darker than Marvel movies, there isn't an issue with that. However, tone and "look who we have" does not make a film. The movie needs to be competent. You can't just be dark just to do it, you need to give us stakes that match. Be gradual. I don't care if JL doesn't come out until Avengers 7, as long as it is properly done.
