Must have watched this shit like 6 times across elementary school
>>67917206
I watched it in a film class during the unit on war movies.
We watched Casablanca then Inglorious Basterds after that.
I remember watching this movie about 5 times throughout school.
>>67917505
beat me to it
I've probably seen the first hour of this 300 times, is it worth finishing?
>>67917023
>Finally after all these years, I have finally learnt How To Kill A Mockingbird™
Fucking really? I walked out of the classroom at that point
>>67917504
you asshole
What about inappropriate movies shown at school? A spanish teacher got fired for playing Saw in class. It wasn't even in Spanish
>>67917636
We watched Zorro in my Spanish class. The teacher was fired some weeks later, because it was discovered that she didn't have her teaching license.
The second time I took Spanish, the teacher died 3/4 the way through the semester. Everyone ended up with As because they never found a suitable replacement.
Anyway I don't know Spanish at all.
>>67917636
One of the gym teachers used to show me inappropriate movies in his office after school :(
>>67917372
Did you go to cuck school?
I watched this at least one a year in elementary school. Dont even fucking know why
>>67917553
no they end up just coming back from the training camp all happy together
>>67917694
>Anyway I don't know Spanish at all.
Nobody knows Spanish from taking high school Spanish, anon.
Making foreign language a graduation requirement was the biggest waste of time and money that those fuckers ever came up with.
>>67917206

Californiafag here, we watched this in both history class and english class
where the fuck did you go to school?
>>67917058
>le Nazis dindu nuffin meme
>>67917636
Reminds me of the time we convince the spanish teacher we were only 15 minutes into harry potter when we were actually more like an hour in. Rewatched the entire beginning and we just fucked around. She wasn't a very good teacher.

Texas, back in the early 2000s. We needed permission slips for anything that showed alcohol and shit

One of my high school teachers played Passion of the Christ and some muslim bitch got offended because she felt Christianity was being forced on her.
Not a movie, but my Civics teacher would put on episodes of Law and Order SVU while we did simple assignments that took 10 minutes to complete. Principal shut that shit down a few years later which sucks.
Must of watched this one about ten times throughout high school.
>>67917923
my school got sued because a muslim girl was given a candy cane. Meanwhile we also spun draedels but nobody cared.
>>67917936
Not bad.
>>67917382
>>67917900
Watched these on Eglish language lessons.
>>67917906
Teaching a foreign language in high school is fucking dumb. It's harder to learn and you'll inevitably have an accent. Teach that shit in kindergarten instead of coloring for the third hour in a row.
watched this in AP Spanish. teacher wouldn't let us watch it with English subs so I only understood some parts of it.

>>67917023
i never saw that in school
ever
They didn't show the whole thing for obvious reasons. The main part I remember seeing actually in school was the amputation scene.
>>67918090
Texas education is some of the worst in the country. Textbooks have at time referred to slaves as "employees." Also very weak separation of church and state, so curriculum is very conservative. Fuckton of baptists down there, and alcohol is a big nono.
>>67918109
Better deterrent than DARE
>>67917936
Used to watch this with my dad once a year in the summer, then we'd go launch model rockets in a field near where he lived. My mom is crazy so I never got to see much of him growing up. He passed away while I was in college, but I still watch it once a year and launch rockets on my own to remember him.
>>67917636
My debate teacher was cool and we got to watch Aliens and Waynes World
The teacher literally got fired the next week
>tfw a teacher made us watch dances with wolves in fucking 7th grade the day before christmas break
god what a bitch
My freshmen and junior English teacher would show this at the end of every school year when there was practically nothing to do.
our elemnetary school teacher was an asshole who used to make kids cry, and he actually showed us this movie a few times. he was a madman
>>67918032
Not sure if it applies to all states, but a lot of local colleges here require two levels of a foreign language to be admitted. Took French because it was the easiest language for me to fake a realistic accent.
>>67918151
The teacher was promoted to principal in two hours.
watched this in middle school art class. that sure went over well.
>>67917206

We watched Band of Brothers instead.
>>67918193
Where I grew up you needed at least three years to get into a good university. I'm not saying it's useless to learn another language, or that taking foreign language just to get into a good school is a bad personal decision, I'm just saying it's stupid to require students to start learning a language that late. The vast majority of students that take a foreign language in hs will never use it, so it's stupid for college admissions to require it. People would be much more likely to use a second language if they learned it early enough to actually become fluent.
>>67918159
Good thing your teachers would show you kino
>mfw watching Life is Beautiful freshmen year

His results have never been duplicated by a third party and for many years he refused to release his medical records that according to the movie say that eating McDonalds essentially almost killed him. I don't keep up on that but he still hadn't released them last I heard.
Plus he's responsible for giving McDonalds so much bad press that they had to remove Super Size which is a faggot thing to ruin for everyone else.

Orchestra teacher sick and left sub with this. Ten minutes in I tell sub that this is inappropriate for 7th grade. School board bans all movies because of incident. My dad, former school board member fights to get movies back. Movies come back, people in school still hated me afterward for "getting movies banned" even while watching horror in school. No one ever apologized. Orchestra teacher commits suicide six years later due to inability to deal with being gay. tfw I finally win.

>>67918630

>>67917023
I love this movie, and the book. A lot of idiots have come out of the woodwork about "it's racist because it's about a white guy and not the black guy." The fact is the film is about the moral ideal, the idea of knowing what to do and when to do it. Atticus is supposed to be someone of integrity so strong that Scout has to be the one to question his actions. It is t about the strong white man saving the poor black man, it's about a scenario and the type of man required for something that was once so taboo.
>>67917738
I love that movie still.

Oh god, I have a story about Band of Brother's when we got shown it:
>Be 10th Grade
>Taking Mandatory US History Class
>All foreign exchange student's forced to take it
>About 3 weeks into the WWII unit
>Teacher's wife dies suddenly
>Going to be gone for two weeks
>No lesson plans, class is 90 mins a day
>Just leave's Band of Brother's and tells sub to show an episode a day
>All of the foreign exchange student's are German
>You can see where this going
>They all start crying when the 20 Germans get executed in the second episode
>Freak out at all the Gore.
>They can understand everything the German soldiers are saying
