The man himself has starred in Alice in Wonderland, LotR and an upcoming Charlie and the chocolate factory. These are, for all intents and purposes, childen's book as people generally read them as children or at a younger age, yet adults go to see them out of love for the stories and perhaps nostalgia.
Not to suggest that capefilms are capekino, but if you go to any thread on /co/ that's talking about a particular character or upcoming film, you can tell there's more than trading blows.
He's being particularly ignorant on that part, and isolating probably a large amount of his own fanbase, for, dare I say it, a cheap quip.

I think British people hold on to the idea that maturity and etiquette retain the virtue of society and when that slides and people become more childish and it's accepted that we lose momentum as a whole. A ceremony of making tea or reading structures your mind more than drinking mtn dew and watching big bang theory.
