What is your favourite piece of music from a film's OST?
Clint Mansell - Death is the Road To Awe

Just a link. I'd slap anyone who listens to music this good on youtube.

Say what you will about the film itself, but it's pretty hard to deny that the Revenant had an excellent soundtrack. Ryuichi Sakamoto is a fantastic composer, and his work on the film only served to emphasize this.

Clint Mansell's work is literally perfection.

Basically all of it.

Clint Mansell is great. Too bad RFAD is so overplayed, especially that extra bombastic LOTR version. I now find it annoying solely out of overexposure.

I unironically love The Revenant.

I should just post the whole compilation

I also enjoyed the Revenant very much, but I didn't feel like getting chewed out by its very vocal group of critics
Here's another piece by Sakamoto. Used in the film Babel, so it counts.

What's the original piece here?

Worst work of both their careers.

Big fan of Badalamenti, but I'd say his score for FWWM is one of his best.

His work on Mulholland Drive is terrific.
There's a particular piece I really like , but can't remember the name.

Thank you for showing me this. It looks erotic. I will definitely watch it.

I love the trailer song from this, the version with the chanting vocals that come in right at the end of the trailer, it never appeared on the soundtrack unfortunately. I think they released it on the website along with Aronofsky's MP3 commentary.

I love the way it builds. It feels like ascending into Valhalla.

Valerie has erotic elements(and in a real 60s/early 70s sense; it's very arty and the girls are much younger than people would get away with today), but there's so much more to it than that.
Valerie and her Week of Wonders is one of a kind.

Was released on the website and not on the DVD. Just Darren talking in his appartement.

Yeah, I love that chant that starts around 1:50. I was disappointed as fuck when it wasn't on the soundtrack, it was a long time before I found a clean copy of the song by itself.

Good piece.

I didn't mean to sound like a typical /tv/ pedophile. This film looks really interesting.
