>"What's the oldest lie in America? That power can be innocent."

This line was so much better than the one from the trailer.
Did anyone else enjoy the senate hearing and other segments that tried to portray political and social implications of superheroes existing in a real-world-scenario?

It wasn't half as clever as Znyder thinks or WB makes it out to be but it was a new element introduced to the largely un-adventurous cape genre and by far the most interesting part of the movie.
>>
>new element

It's the theme of Iron Man 2 but ok.
>>
>>67893414
>New Element
Like in Watchmen. Like in Man of Steel.
So new. So fresh.
>>
>>67893414
It's innocent?

For fucks sake, every time it sounded like he was saying "an ascent"

Makes more sense now

He asks that question twice and each time he gives a different answer.

Sounds familiar?

a 2 minute scene of Tony Stark embarassing Senator Hail Hydra in a public hearing while ironically playing with his phone doesnt really qualify

>>67893501
Watchmen isn't a cape movie, it's a parody of a cape movie.
Man of Steel was about personal responsibility and choice. The only hint at the issue was the 30 second scene at the end of the movie when supes crashes the spy drone
>>
>>67893607

Were talking about Iron-man.

The millenial role-model.

>PLAYBOY BILLIONAIRE PHILANTROPIST

That guy.

So 'New' to you means 'more of the same in bigger portions'?
Ok.

>implying you aren't a millenial
>>
Remember when black science man had his cameo and said something along the line:

>all other issues aside, isn't it amazing that the question to are we alone in the universe finally has an answer?

I liked that.
I know it's a different kind of movie but how they completely ignored this in Avengers annoyed me a little bit

>hey look it's an ALIEN INVASION, just another tuesday in the big apple, let's never mention it again haha

"Millenial generation" and "millenials" are two very different things m80s.

>Daredevil deals with the aftermath of the alien invasion and Matt's Catholicism
>Never once mentions the impact that aliens have on people's beliefs and religions in general
>>
>>67893889
heh

Personally I'd say the oldest lie in America is:
>All people are created equal
>Land of the free
and
>These blankets are not infused with deadly disease
>>
>>67893867
>Aliens exist and they want to murder us
>Let's ignore the horrifying reality that at any moment a flying space centipede and a bajillion troops could swarm our city and kill us all
Seems pretty reasonable, though admittedly these kind of themes would have been fun to see in Agents of Shield, if it had stayed grounded rather than more of the same on tv budget.
>>
>>67893414
>"you know the oldest lie in America, senator? That Jews don't run America"
Jesus Snyder, way to start controversy
>>
>>67894003
>These white men are peaceful
>>
>>67893956
Yeah, no they aren't.
Thats called cognitive dissonance.
>>
>>67893985
This is true but tv shows don't count since they were never incorporated in the MCU. Not a single cameo scene.
>>
>>67893985
>God created them too
OR
>They're nor Aliens, they're demons
That's it. Thrilling.
>>
>>67894055

Ok let me explain my dear millenial child.

>Millennials (also known as the Millennial Generation or Generation Y) are the demographic cohort following Generation X. There are no precise dates for when the generation starts and ends; most researchers and commentators use birth years ranging from the early 1980s to around 2000.

Im 28. I was born in 1988. I grew up without a cell phone and didnt have access to a pc until I was 8.

Now compare that to someone who is 10 years younger than me.

Stop being such a colossal fucking faggot.
>>
>>67894056
Ummm wat? AoS has a low tier Asgardian show up. A z lister sure, but she was in one Thor or another.
>>
>>67894120
>I was born 1988
By your own green text, you're a Millenial. So would be the person born '98.

I was about to, then the wheelchair blew up.
>>
>>67894289
Yeah, I'm sure that it's nothing to do with Snyder falling into a comfort zone.
>>
>>67894120

I agree. 18-year-olds today are way more insufferable, faggoty, and generally more shitty than we ever were.

t. also 1988

Fuck, it's happened, hasn't it? We're not really part of the youth culture anymore.
>>
>>67894458
>almost 30
Yeah no shit you're not a part of youth culture anymore.
>>
>>67894458
ProTip, they aren't. You are falling into a cycle as old as humanity. The older generation hating the younger. We were dumb cunts in youth as well, it's probably healthier to realise that than deny it.
>>
>>67894501

Yeah, you know what. It feels good not to be part of your thing.
>>
>>67893414
>Did anyone else enjoy the senate hearing

yes that was probably my favourite scene.
>>
>>67894296
It's like the movie suddenly remebered who its audience was and in a desperate attempt to prevent any more dialogue from happening exploded over the screen.

I realize it was an important plot point (lex going beyond the point of no return) but I couldn't help imagining someone at set screaming:

>this is a capeshit movie but nothing has blown up in the last 10 minutes, DO SOMETHING
>>
>>67894558
Who said I'm younger than you?

>>
>>67894643
The reason Fisk was able to buy 90% of Hell's Kitchen for chump change was because it was destroyed in the invasion.
>>
>>67894643
They also mention hulk destroying Brooklyn or the Bronx or wherever he is.

On an existential level, sure. But manifesting that as 'Back in MY day...' without realising what you're doing is absurd.
>>
>>67894684
That has to be one of the most underwritten things in TV history, I actually keep forgetting that there was an invasion, I watched all of Season 2 and don't even think they said alien or invasion the entire time.
>>
>>67895271
>>67894684

yeah i actually just finished season 2 and i was unaware until this thread that there were aliens at all in this universe.
>>
>>67895271
Why would they need to, though.
The conflicts in season 2 don't really have much to do with New York, unlike season 1.
