Re watched it, and I actually like beginning. The idea of having a Dax type character (the name was a little on the nose) vs commissar type officer could be good, but the tone can't really be the same as the first movie. The third movie actually did an admirable job of trying to have the ridiculousness off the first movie, while making it actually relevant as satire (cheap as it was).
