Film
>>67876665
but what is your point?
Is Donner the one true author of Capekino?
>>67876843
he made great technical strides in film

We haven't yet met our daily quota of capeshit threads, so this is a post toward that end.

i'm getting tired of these quotas
Listening to these two talk about what they did with these characters you get a sense that they truly cared about making a good film.
They also make Hack Snyder look bad.

If Zachary Snyder was there too
>uh... uh... awesome
>>67877095
He really does seem brain dead. Even Michael Bay is more passionate

>In an extensive piece at The Guardian on director Christopher Nolan, who served as a producer on Man of Steel, the outlet reveals that the studio asked director Zack Snyder to include a humorous scene at the end of the film, which Nolan reportedly shot down, saying: “A real movie wouldn’t do that.”
Nolan is based

I read an article of Donner the other day, and you can see it in this, Donner came into the movie with a love of the character. Him and Tom Mankiewicz came in to rewrite the script amd work on the movie with their goal basically being "make the audience believe a man can fly". Guy seems pretty based.
Nolan clearly doesn't have the same love of Batman Donner had for Superman, but he just wanted to make a good movie and it showed.
Imagine what it would have been like if they could get two directors to come in with both aspects to balance each other out
>>67877440
exactly my thought
>>67877463
>Batman v Superman should have had 2 directors
Now I want this to have hapenned

>This footnote was added on 5 November 2014. Subsequent to publication, Nolan disputed the quote attributed to him by Snyder. According to Nolan, he had told Snyder, “We shouldn’t be chasing other movies, but stay true to the tone of Man of Steel.”
He even hacked Nolan lmao

>a humorous scene at the end of the film, which Nolan reportedly shot down, saying: “A real movie wouldn’t do that.”
Nolan is aware that TDKR opens with humorous scene, right?
>>67877287
What's your point? That battle was shit.
>>67877879
>silly post credit scene is the same as a scene in the intro
wat?
>>67877287
The most annoying part of Hack's CG sequences is the camerawork. Because even the camerawork is fake shakycam.

We gotta start posting gore and animal cruelty soon, nothing else can send redditors back home so efficiently, moderation just don't give a fuck anyway.
>Donner bringing up the plane scene
>>67876843
Yes. Donner's Superman encapsulated Campbell's Hero's Journey better than Lucas's Star Wars.
>>67879180
I'm not so sure. The first half, most definitely, but as soon as Clark puts on the tights and flies away for the first time, there isn't much left for him to do. In Star Wars, Luke's journey completes at the very end when he blows up the Death Star.
Speaking of, you can very much see Donner's influence over Batman Begins, with the first half hitting the same beats, just told in a non-linear way through flashbacks.
