A decent Star Wars flick that rehashes old ideas, but still ends up being better than the prequels and episode VI. There's a lot of convenient happenings to advance the fast paced plot which is kind of annoying. It goes beyond >muh mary sue xDD . Also, the older actors are shit, but Harrison Ford was okay at the very least.

The fact that only she and Chewie went was definitely questionable.
Being able to find Luke on the planet itself probably wasn't too hard, though, since it looks mostly oceanic, so you could scan it for human life forms and see where they pop up.

The force thing is a bit true. It seems a bit off that she can suddenly perform a jedi mind trick. Sure it took her two or three tries, but it's a bit retarded. For the fight with Kylo Ren, I'll side with those who say she was able to put up a fight because he was shot in the gut by Chewie. The closing the eyes to gain power thing she did at the end was fucking retarded though.

Except Episode IV ends with Peripety and anagnorisis. Not so with Episode VII.
If your protagonist successfully evaded capture or death until the end of the movie, when he confronts his son, that is a peripatetic reversal.
However, if your antagonist loses up to the end of the movie, when he kills his father... That is Peripety without Anagnorisis.
Want to combine them for a perfect ending? Have Kylo and Han both win up until the end of the movie. Have Han steal keys from Phasma before he confronts his son. Kylo would then kill his father, and Han would fall over the ledge. He experiences the reversal of having killed his father, and then he realizes that the key to defending the base happened to be in his pocket just as the Resistance bombers arrive. That's a genuine Reversal. Not only did Kylo kill his dad, but he's going to lose the base on account of it. Scrap the last fight scene because it adds nothing after a Peripety. End on a cliffhanger.
Expect nothing because that's what you'll get. Fuck JJ Abrams.
