I really liked the different motives in the movie - the water probably symolizing purity and innocence, the colours - lots of red that you can connotate with love, sex and affection but also blood and violence. Notice how the characters are wearing white at the end what could actually mean purity.
I have a few gripes with the movie, too. The way it kills you was just pretty random - as was the absence of adults and the police - of course that stuff has been done on purpose -but they could've come up with some bullshit excuse like the parents going for holiday or something.

The worst part of this movie was the use of burgundy. Totally jarring in every shot that had it and it served no purpose.
