The final few scenes didnt look too different from some parts of Northern England today tbqh

What are some other films as bleak as this?

I watched Grave of the Fireflies recently, reminded me a lot of Threads (particularly the hospital scenes).

Is When the Wind Blows worth a watch?

>muh cold war nukes
>mfw

people were stupid, most people knew there was little/no real threat of M.A.D. The fact that most of the Western info in the USSR was black propaganda should be enough to reveal what a farce the whole thing was. The USSR was also a hall of mirrors. Keeping people afraid and pissing themselves 24/7 is an efficient way to control people. Just look at all of the CIA/Mossad disinfo on "the war on terror".

sorry, that should be "most high ranking people knew"

Is there a better looking rip of this other than the one that has been uploaded to Vimeo?
>>
>>67863698
He is, very briefly at the rationing site scene.

God I love Threads. Nothing like it could be made today.

I got "THREADS.ISO" from The Pirate Bay.

It seemed like a very early DVD release. Plain menus with pixellated on-screen text. It's possible that someone on TPB had put it together from another video, but it was still higher quality than the other rips I'd found.

BBC Shop relaunched recently as BBC Store, a digital service. It's on there for £3.99.
>>
>>67864201
Thanks for the info, now I have to see if I can buy on the BBC Shop if I'm not british.
>>
>>67861844
I know right - that's why nukes were almost launched on several occasions. It was all a laugh, really.
>>
>>67864853
I think the site is UK-only which is stupid. Have this coupon code anyway.

>If you are looking for BBC Shop we are no longer selling DVDs, Blu-ray discs and BBC merchandise.
>As long as you are a resident in the UK you can buy programmes to download and keep right here on BBC Store. Create a new account and start your digital collection today!

What a terrible decision.
>>
Never seen it - better or worse than The War Game?
>>
You made me watch it, I just finished.

>dat lucky faggot JImmy gets blown off and the beginning of all shit

It's an unlikely scenario of nuclear war, but I would serioulsy consider suicide after the attack.
>>
>>67861844

You are retarded.
>>
>>67858803
I always thought it was Kevin Spacey
>>
I found this movie after seeing that image posted on /tv/ a few months back. Pretty fucking brutal. That final scene was dank as fuck
>>
>>67864956
three occasions iirc

each time MAD served its intended purpose and scared the shit out of the guy with his finger on the button and nothing happened
>>
>>67865929

We haven't been using standalone MAD for a long, long time now.

We use NUTS.
>>
>>67858803
is there any particular reason why you keep trying to make threads into a big deal?

Literally the only Threads thread I've ever made and my first thread on /tv/ in months.
>>
>>67863986
Why don't you think it could be made today anon? Just curious. "End of the world" movies are all the rage these days.
