Was this Bond film panned because it showed Americans as bad guys?
>>67857849
Yes
Reality bites
>>67857849
it's really not that bad, it's a decent Bond movie but coming off the heels of the Best movie in the entire franchise (Casino Royale) it was bound to be disappointing in some aspects. The fight editing was bad in the beginning but the climax was exciting and tense.
I love Olga
No, it came after Casino Royale.
>>67858843
>your face when a ratfaced weasel like Dominic literally who Greene puts up a better fight than Blofeld did.
He fucking loses it at the end and it's great. And the only really bad fight scene in the movie is that escape scene at the quantum meeting, everything is really good, you want a badly edited fight, that staircase one from CR is not great on a rewatch
>>67858915
damn that's a good fight
This movie is definitely underrated.
>>67857849
It was too smart for Marvel fans
>>67859037
Helps that Craig does the majority of his stunts, Bond himself is a real cocky asshole in this and I love it. Even if the main Bolivia plot is kind of wank, it's still an engaging watch.
>>67857849
Honestly it was too slow paced after Casino, with a lot of character building scenes early in the movie (Vesper and Mathys scenes). The car chase is amazing and the stuff with Greene and Quantum are fun, but the lull in action is too much for most people, and that's not unreasonable.
I love Quantum, I think it's easily better than Skyfall, which felt cheesy as fuck. Casino is still easily the best of the Craig Bonds, but I think all of them are leaps and bounds better than Brosnan era, and better put together movies than a lot of the old classics.
>>67859227
Craig is the most underrated Bond.
I love how his movies actually reference the previous one. It makes the viewer feels rewarded for actually watching the last entry.
I'd even say Craig does the cockiness better than almost everyone else. Especially in QoS.
Is Spectre his last outing or is Bond 25 going to be him again?
>craig
>bond
>>67859567
He's contractedd for one more, yeah he's like MAN I DON'T WANNA DO DIS NO MORE his ass is still over a table so he's got no choice.
It was a bit weird how he instantly bedded that MI6 woman who was meant to bring him back

>Cast as the fictional British secret agent James Bond in October 2005, his first film in the role, Casino Royale, was released internationally in November 2006.

>It was a bit weird how he instantly bedded that MI6 woman who was meant to bring him back
>>67859623
>not fucking Gemma Arterton as a distraction to keep on investigating Quantum
That's not weird at all, you want weird? What about in Skyfall when Bond sneaks onto a boat that belongs to that chick l who says she was a prostitute since childhood and has pretty much been used by men all her life right before he bangs her?
Then later Silva caps her ass and he shrugs it off like nothinghe was more than likely just trying to keep Silva from getting a rise out of him tho
It's actually pretty interesting how Bond recognizes how fucking broken Olga is in QoS and doesn't push for a bed scene and is actually more sympathetic to her quest for revenge cuz y'know, he's got the same deal.
>>67859684
A Walther, a tux, and a name does not, in and of itself, make one Bond.
>>67857849
No, it was a boring bond movie with a stupid premise.
>>67859765
But a film contract does, my good friend.
>>67859623
She was qt as fuck, especially with that haircut
>>67859937
her jaw is too wide
ew
Poor villain.
More like a standalone revenge piece than a Bond movie, there is nothing wrong with deviating from Bond tropes but this was so far removed it could have been called anything.
Eco-Terrorism isn't exactly a thrilling situation or subject at all.
Story wasn't explained enough in the movie and a lot of people left the movie not even knowing exactly what was going on. (Remember there is a difference between this and having to fill in blanks).
Also the supporting characters were pretty piss poor.
There just wasn't much good about it, OP. Everything was middling and meh.

Same applies for Licence to Kill
It was just utterly forgettable. About an hour after watching it was completely out of my mind.
It had the best girls though, Olga and Gemma
olga a cute. A CUTE!
>>67858843
It's not bad, it's the best Bond of Craig.
>>67860944
agreed
>that scene where they somehow survive by pulling the parachute cord literally a quarter of a second before hitting the floor
>there's a conservative film critic conspiracy to keep anti-American films down!
Is this what libtards actually believe? Anyone who isn't a retard knows the film industry is overly liberal
>in Spectre Blofield is talking about the women he took from Bond
>mentions Vesper and M
>no mention of Gemma Atherton
It's like they forgot about QoS
Casino royale > quantum > sky fall = spectre = shit
No one I know agrees with. I think casino is a phenomenal movie. Quantum is meh, entertaining not but little desire to rewatch. Meanwhile everyone I know suck skyfall's dick and I don't understand why. Maybe >muh England homeland?
>>67857849
The editing in this film was a huge turn off for me.Like it's really fucking bad.
>>67861337
leet post, lad
>>67861633
I agree with you
Although I'd say skyfall > spectre
but it was close
>>67861633
Skyfall is well-made, it's just very unconventional for a Bond film in that Bond bungles everything. The antagonist's plan was also contrived. Having a master plan that involved getting caught has been done before. That same year in fact, and in other movies in previous years. It's not a good twist played straight.
I would have loved to see Skyfall as a non-Bond film. The opening chase is beautiful and the courtroom shooting followed by the desperation of the Mansion fight are interesting because we have a character who very much is not an underdog forced into an underdog situation, where we know he's going to come out on top, we just don't see how.
They had a helicopter after all.
I appreciated that the hero could only salvage the best of a bad situation instead of the usual good end with all objectives completed. It just doesn't work for a one-off Bond film. If they wanted to pursue this new type of Bond, they should have done so from the get go and cast a more typical Bond for it.
Not that Craig has done a bad job, but that an visually unconventional Bond paired with an unconventional approach to Bond is a recipe for a low RT score.
>>67861723
I thought that too, but it gets better after the opening chase.
>>67861080
>he never played battlefield
>>67862010
My two main problems with skyfall were the villain's plan being so complex and yet somehow generally succeeding. Like that perfectly timed train shit is just annoying. More importantly, bardem was supposed to be a real scary dude but was more so just a closeted homosexual. I wanted to see him in a much darker light. The jokes and memes were fine, but I wanted to see him shoot the girl, walk out of a room covered in blood, etc. also wrapping m and the old house caretaker into the action in last stand style was kind of annoying. The movie just didn't do it for me, but there were definitely some parts I enjoyed. That fight scene in the glass walled room with the assassin was really cool.
Casino Royale
> Bond goes rogue after a terrorist
Quantum of Solace
> Bond's status is revoked, he goes rogue after Quantum
Spectre
> Bond's entire branch is shut down, he goes rogue after Spectre
Really?
>>67858843
It's good, my second favourite Craig movie. It benefits from being watch straight after Casino as well.
>>67859451
Are you me?
>>67863030
It works for Mission Impossible
>>67863490
Americans have lower standards for flicks than the British do.
>>67861633
No, it's
>muh old Bond memes
I hate referencing so much now. It's never subtle and so fucking lazy.
>>67857849
Why would a film be panned for something that's prety much common sense anywhere but in the USA?
