I haven't seen it ages so I barely remember it but I just find it a bit surprising Americans did an animated theatrical movie for an older audience like this.
I don't think Beowulf was exactly a box office bomb either, though it didn't make that much. I'd say animated theatrical films like this would fare better among audiences these days.

I thought the CGI was amazing when I saw it in theater, but after rewatching it I don't think it's aged that bad. It's nice, comfy fantasy film with great music and Ray Winstone's beautiful voice.
