First season is him noticing weird shit and then finding out so then he plays along and finds some allies in a stage hand leaving him notes and clues and other people actors who were his childhood friends actually hate him and are antagonists, then he is up against the producers, then the network or company financing it, then it is revealed that some nefarious conglomerate is using the show for an ulterior motive like keeping the populace docile and complacent about being constantly monitored, since everyone does it to Truman, they aren't in a position to argue when private entities do it too and so on and so on.
