what's your take on it?
>>
>>67838800
Completely underrated movie.

It had every aspect that a science fiction suspense movie should have.
Not really a big Dennis Quaid fan but, hey, he played that part well
>>
first 30 minutes are GOAT
the second they start overexplaining all the ship's phenomena the movie just nosedives
>>
Antje is perfect in every way
>>
>>67838942
She looked more like a woman in this movie.
>>
Reminds me of Dead Space
>>
>>67838800
Loved it. Wish it didnt bomb, and more of these would get made.
>>
>>67838871
This
>>
>>67838871
This.

It was like two movies.

And also, the trailer was supremely misleading
>>
Whatever happened to Ben Foster?
>>
>>67839132
He's chilling with Sam Worthington at the Flash in the Pan Club
>>
was that the movie where they wake the people up from hypersleep and eject the pods into space? fuck that noise
>>
>>67839203
Isn't Ben on the Warcraft movie?
>>
>>67838800
That part where the little alien/mutant/evolutionary offspring baby killed that Asian(?)-looking dude towards the end pissed me off. It just seemed so pointless and thrown in for no reason.

Overall it was pretty cool, kinda spooky. I think I have mild claustrophobia so parts of it gave me anxiety, which is a good thing to say about a horror movie.
>>
>>67839338
>Warcraft movie
You mean Career Suicide: The Movie?
>>
>>67839203
Ben Foster could actually act though. He must be a huge sausage jockey like Michael Pitt to not be getting regular work.
>>
>>67839389
>Michael Pitt
That guy's a total asshole though.
Yeah, he can work, but there's a reason why his characters always get killed off.
He's horrible to work with
>>
>>67839281
Nah that was The Matrix Revolution.
>>
>>67839430
That's what I'm saying. Is Ben Foster a pre madonna like Pitt?
>>
>>67839342
cung le, actor
>>
>>67839492
>sausage jockey
Oh, I thought you were calling him a homosexual.
>>
Breddy good.
>>
>https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AEtbFm_CjE0

>hull compromised on the bottom of the ocean
>slow leaks instead of catastrophic pressure equalization

Good atmosphere and decent acting though.
>>
>>67839617
It's not in the middle of the fucking ocean you retard. It's near the fucking coast so it's not more than 100 feet deep. Watches still work deeper than that.
>>
So did space travel mutate everyone or what?
>>
>>67839617
When the main viewer went out, it went quick.
We don't know the strength of the material involved nor the pressure inside the ship. Nor the gravity pushing down onto it from the alien planet.

Also
>not Byford Dolphin incident as an example of delta P
Don't look at the pictures.
>>
>>67839739
No, it was the thousands of years of breeding that evolved them to adapt to living on a spaceship

>>
>>67839787
Evolution takes more than thousands of years pham
>>
>>67840005
Depends on the circumstances.
Extreme bottleneck can have rapid changes in only a couple tens of thousands of years.

I forget how long they were on the ship, tho
>>
>>67840034
It was under 1000
>>
>>67838800
first half was good, second half became a mess
>>
>>67840138
Oh, then maybe they were under the affect of meme magic.
They did kinda look froggish
>>
>>67838800
I liked it.

>>67840005

No.

All the humans on board had some medical procedure done to their DNA that causes them to evolve to the environment very quickly. They talk about it in the movie. Bascially, that IS what humanity would look like if they were not sleeping the entire time while on board the ship.

As soon as everyone gets outside they will start to evolve into whatever is best for out there. It had nothing to do with breading for normal generations to mutate and evolve. It was part of their biotech.
>>
>>67840658
Oh, I dimly remember that plotpoint.

It's still kinda dumb.
I liked it better when it was two guys going crazy on a starship
>>
>>67838800
Movies where you watch people slowly go batshit get my nut
Same reason I spend so much time on here shilling TWWB
>>
>>67838800
Good twist. Not enough re watchability though...
>>
>>67838800
>watched primer when I thought it was going to be pandorum
>somehow got confused at the dissimilar names

oops
>>
I feel it got an unfair amount of criticism from people who couldn't follow the plot
>>
>>67840934
lucky you
>>
>>67839853

That man knew nothing but suffering. I just felt bad for him.
>>
>>67839758
>Don't look at the pictures.
it's nothing, are you kidding? I've seen gore in movies that's worse than this.
>>
I liked it, there were some things that they could have done better, but overall pretty good scifi.
>>
There was a cool scene in the end when they opened the window to see no shit but an absolute darkness without stars.
>>
>>67838871
Extremely this. Thankfully Antje Traue is there to maintain my interest
>>
>>67841887
I thought they'd miscalculated and the ship had drifted past the planet and into dark space. I was disappointed.
>>
>>67838800

I wish it had done well enough for them to make a trilogy. Obviously a pretty flawed movie, but there is a lot to like about it.
>>
If getting to the surface was so easy, I don't see how it took 900 years for someone to do it.
>>
>>67839020
Same. Dead Space was better tho.
>>
>>67842197

Because Payton/Gallo was the only one in control and he was completely fucking bonkers
>>
>>67840658
i thought everything was just in their head
>>
>tfw you will never get to populate an entire planet with Antje
FUCKING HELL
>>
>>67838800
I liked it. I thought it was ambishious.
