Honestly the movie was just too fast.
It seemed like it had to spend time throwing the audience nostalgia instead of taking time with the new characters...like it didn't have it's own identity and HAD to associate itself with the OT.
I didn't hate it, but it could have been done better. I'm holding out hope for EP 8.

no character development or GOOD character interactions. there's a lot of potential in individual characters but they waste it for call-backs.
Also, Rey's acting was not too good. If they had some backstory for her plethora of skills, I would be more accepting of her, but finding out she's a pilot and a mechanic isn't exactly good storytelling/writing.

Actually the points that are really EASY to dislike can be summed up rather quickly:
>general plot feeling like a rehash of ANH (protagonist on desert planet, rather oblivious to conflict sorrounding him/her, droid containing data vital to one conflict party falls into protagonist's hand, protagonist needs to leave home, finds friends, finds father figure, loses father figure etc. etc.)
>too many "*winkwink*-geddit?"-moments referring to OT (like Finn finding the training ball thing on the Falcon)

>extreme open-endedness of movie – nothing against a little cliff hanger, but that ending was a non-ending, a mere sequel-hook. They could've solved at least ONE question. TESB managed to have an actual and still have you hooked for ROTJ. Even each of the prequels had an actual ending!
