>Muh 70% drop

Literally means nothing. This still made $380 million domestic with a 72% drop. The third week drop is what really counts.

http://screenrant.com/batman-v-superman-box-office-drop-off/

It was a record 81% drop. It doesn't matter how you spin it, that isn't good.
>>
>>67779363
Harry Potter also had a massive international pull

BvS flopped in china and isn't doing great in other markets. At this point it'll be lucky to break 850 million
>>
>>67779438

Its a 70% drop for the entire weekend. Nobody really fucking compares friday to friday before this.

It's all estimatives yet
The real numbers will be 95% for friday and 87% for the weekend
>>

The weekend isn't over
>>
>>67779423
Iron man 3 had nice legs and it have RDJ which means normies would watch regardless of "muh bad twist".
>>
The BvS debacle may be /tv/'s finest hour. This shit is better than Baneposting ever was.
>>
>>67779676
the twist is not even bad for people who don't read comics (99% of the world)
>>
>>67779363
But the movie already bombed in china anon
>>
>>67779692
t. newshit
>>
>>67779490

70% is awful
>>
>>67779363
That drop was probably because it went against the Captain America movie that week. There's literally no competition against BvS this week, only garbage like 'God's not Dead 2' and 'Meet the Blacks'.

BUT MUH 81%!!!! SO MUCH MORE THAN THESE!!
>>
>>67779711
I know but the point is iron man 3 was better received by critics and its "problems" were not problems that would affect the mainstream audience. The movie itself was pretty much your summer Blockbuster sucess.

That is not the case of BvS.The movie is bad regardless if you are a Comic book fan or just a normie trying to laugh a little.

People defending this movie are either DC fanboys in suicide watch or Kino hipsters overmeaning the movie's plot with the "2deep4u" excuses.
>>
>>67779711
My first exposure to Iron Man was the 90's cartoon that had Mandarin as the main villain and I didn't think the was a bad twist when I actually watched the movie.
>>
>>67779363
Deathly Hallows had a $250m budget... between the two movies.

That's Warner's problem. The cost, expectations and opportunity cost are so fucking high that "only" doing $380m is not a good result. Warner need this to be a megahit. That's the problem, DC have put all their eggs in one basket.
>>
>>67779867
A fraction of a percent is millions of dollars, you know. So yes, it is much more.
>>
>>67779803
THIS. A dropoff this huge looks really bad considering they have zero competition for weeks.
>>
And it opened against Captain America? What's BvS biggest competition? Zootopia's 5th weekend

Daily Reminder, DCucks are in full denial damage control mode.

Before the release of BvS
>It will be the Dawn of Capekino.
>Marvel is going to get BTFO.
>"It will be a philosophical political drama that explores mankind's need for hope and the dangers of absolute power".
>Zack Snyder will deliver... In Zack Snyder we trust.

After the release of BvS
>Critics don't matter, they're paid off by marvel and/or just have a skewed view since they're so used to Marvel movies they can't appreciate true CAPEKINO!
>Just look at the user score, fans obviously love the movie.
>Citizen Kane and 2001 also had mixed reviews when they came out!
>Its deeper and smarter than people think, too much for Marvel fans.

After 1 week of the release of BvS
>Reviews don't matter, fans love it and it will still beat out Avengers.
>It will still beat out Ironman 3.
>Its going to break a billion.
>I-its making more than Ant-Man and Captain America, g-guys.
>Avatar had a slow build up too!
>People just don't understand the genius of this film.
>It came out on Easter Weekend, g-guys that's why there's an 81% drop off in Box Office numbers. It doesn't mean anything!
>Suicide Squad will turn things around, g-guys I p-promise!
...

Come on, guys. This is getting pathetic.
>>
>>67779803
No, it was just massively front-loaded as the final movie in the series. IIRC, it held the Friday record until Star Wars.

As more of a DC fan, I am fucking pissed a movie with Batman and Superman and Wonder Woman did not to better than Iron Man 3 and Avengers.

This should have decimated Marvel films.

Hell, I am more of a Spider-man fan and upset those aren't doing as well as Avengers characters too.
