How did Moon hallucinate a vision of his 15 year old daughter when he only knew what she looked like as a baby?
>>
Lord knows what generation this clone was. I would assume the result degrade with more cloning of a clone of a clone etc.

Life spawn would be shorter for start since the quality of the genetic material is more than questionable.

Problems with organs and cancer would also show more often and sooner.

It's not hard to say this clone probably didn't got all his mind in the right place.

To be honest at this point they should just give the AI a body and let it do the maintenance instead of a mad man who can wreck all of your precious mining equipment.

the older Moon with the beard at the beginning was the 5th Moon. Still doesn't explain how he knew what his 15 year old daughter looked like.

He didn't knew it's just a mind construct, that why I'm saying he's probably going bananas. Or maybe he does know but his memories are getting confused and then again he's going potatoes. How do we know Bearded Moon was Moon 5?

Based off the number of years (assuming they each last 3 years) and also when they go down into the lower level you see 6 compartments lit up (New Moon was the 6th Moon)

I understand what you're saying, it's just that they made the choice to use the same actor for his hallucination that they used for his actual daughter when he talked to her on video phone.

He didn't. He imagined.

What show is this?

All the clones had been made from the original genetic material, they were shipped up at some point and left there. If I had to guess, they'd been given some kind of biological expiry date that caused the deterioration.

The kino's name is in the OP. Try rubbing a few braincells together and you might be able to find it. It's a spectacular one, easily one of the best this side of 2000.

Well that's like the whole thing with hallucinations, they can show you literally anything, how hard is to grasp that?

Yeah each Moon was given 3 years to live. They probably figured that was the optimal time before his performance/mental health suffered too much to do his tasks satisfactorily.

It also seemed to be the stint of the original's stay on the Moon, meaning that they could use all the original content (movies, TV, sports recordings, messages from home, etc.) with minimal effort.

Okay fine, but then they shouldn't have used the same actor that plays his actual daughter. There's no way Moon could've known what she looked like, he only knew her as a baby at that point.

The director said it's because he's got a weak psychic link with the original Sam Bell, but they thought it worked better when left unexplained.

Kevin Spacey did such a shit job, almost single-handedly ruined the movie. They should've cast literally anyone else.

I thought he was fine,in a sense that you dont know which side is the robot on up until the very end.
Pic related scene is my favorite.

The friendly-seeming company AI that had top secret information that it was keeping from the crew was actually a total bro that just wanted to help, I loved it.

It's just one of the glaring holes in this mess of a film, but the spastics on here try to make out it's a modern classic.
>>
>>67774420
Also I watched it with the two commentary tracks and they clear up on a lot of details like knowing that American audience doesn't watch movies with subtitles therefore the choice of actors and funny how the are aware that people don't watch movies anymore and when watching small budget movies tend not to pay attention to the movie itself but rather play "spot the CGI" which is kinda stupid to begin with and they did their best to make the move continuous in terms of the special effects as well as diverting the viewers attention from the actual CGI,the leaking gas scene is one example.

As for me I didn't even noticed CGI because I was focused in the interaction between the two Sams worrying I will miss something important in their dialog.
>>
>>67774594
I find that the only times I'm playing spot the CG are when the production isn't giving me anything else to work with. If I'm that out of the experience it's on you as filmmakers, not me as a watcher. That, and conspicuously bad CG that really shouldn't have been used. I see it in TV more than films these days but as a general rule, if you can't afford to do it, don't fucking do it. Find another way to shoot it or something, don't shove some awful effect in my face and expect me to take you seriously. I'm looking at you, every single cop procedural this side of 2010.
