Post your favorite horror movie deaths. The gorier the better.

The idea of being painfully dissolved inside a blob, just seems so much more visceral than other deaths that I've seen in a lot of movies.

I consider The Blob, The Thing, and The Fly, to be the trifecta of "Good" horror remakes in the 80s.

The Blob is a bit more B-movie than the others, so I guess that's why it's more forgotten. But I think the monster is 10 times more animated than it's 50s version.

I think it's the muffled screaming, the fact that he's only a few inches away from freedom, and the fact that you can see him get progressively digested by the Blob. It's not a quick and clean death.

I completely agree. I also think there's somerthing about the blob being this pink mess. If this was remade today there'd be a temptation to make it dark and grungy and distinctly alien-ish. But like it is in this movie.. it looks like a chemical spill and a cancerous blob had a baby. It looks inherently noxious and completely believable that it'd eat through you like that.

The most disturbing thing, for me anyway, was that the blob killed EVERYONE. There was an unwritten rule in horror movies that the monster could only kill people who had it coming. Some of the worst deaths in the movie are characters I really liked up to that point.

Also the Blob melting that asshole kid in the sewers got to me as kid. I thought children were magically immune in horror movies.

I think that's why the blob holds up so well for me. It really plays against your expectations, and isn't afraid to pull punches. And plus, the deaths can stay pretty creative(like a guy getting grabbed after trying to cope a feel with his infested girl friend).

>A few movies in, they abandoned the whole "people can survive the traps" idea.
There's two in Saw III because Jigsaw's apprentice was an emo bitch who didn't want he victims to survive.

Saw V had one with the pendulum, created by a copycat killer who used Jigsaw's MO to get revenge on the man who killed his sister.

Saw VI had one at the very end which was Jigsaw's wife trying to kill Costas Mandylor, except even though this was supposed to be a straight up execution he managed to outsmart the contraption and escape anyway.

Saw VII had another one at the very end which was Mandylor killing Jigsaw's wife with the same contraption she tried to kill him with.

There's only a few instances of inescapable traps and each one has a valid reason for being inescapable.

The Blob has my favorite horror movie deaths. The kid getting killed, the dude getting pulled headfirst through the sink drain, the guy getting killed when he tries to feel the passed out girl's tit.

I can't find my favorite scene on youtube though, where they're all barricaded in a library or town hall or something, and the Blob pulls some guy through a small hole and literally snaps him in half. I always thought that was pretty brutal.

The ones where people got splat or split by something fast or falling.
I think Final Destination series have a lot of those.
>>
>>67781029
Oh shit, that's the show where Julia Benson gets her tits out. Fucking amazing.
>>
>>67769183
alright this actually shocked me and I've been on 4chan since 2006. Could be because I'm high though
>>
>>67767141
Disgusting.
Sickening.
Nihilistic extremely gorey movies like this always manage to depress me.

But in 6, the people who die can't actually do anything to stop themselves from dying. I think it's the same with some of the ones in 5, but I don't remember
>>
>>67781573

This movie scared me when I was a kid. My fucking aunt loved horror and all those slasher/gore/b-movies back then and and I would watch them with her.

I've heard about this movie. Resisting the urge to click that webm so I don't spoil myself.
>>

You're trying to find and poke flaws in a movie that don't exist, simply because it's a late sequel in a horror movie series so it must have shitloads of flaws! Total Reddit mentality. This shit has been happened throughout the entire series. It doesn't contradict the Jigsaw character. Shit like that was happening in the first fucking movie but you didn't complain about it then. Why? Because it made perfect sense to his character. But now Saw V and VI are the later sequels of a long running series you so desperately want to try and poke holes in it just because it's a sequel, only to make yourself look like a retard.
>>
>>67782276
well, they could have survived by beating the main guy, following his direction or persuading him, I don't remember the all tests though.
>>
>>67782279

did she molest you?
>>
>>67768097

It's pretty rough, as in unentertaing-bad, except for the bits of gore.

Happily, The Incredible Melting Man was the subject of an MST3K episode, and that ALWAYS makes the medicine go down! So look for that episode.

The Blob wasn't Carpenter silly.

I came here to laugh at you.

1) You have a tripcode and so your opinion can be summarily dismissed.
2) I'm not that guy, and I happen to agree with him that the 70s Body Snatcher is solid.
3) Good remakes of horror flicks exist, as /tv/ well knows, and as this thread ably demonstrates with its 80s Blob-love.

4) the 70's Body Snatchers is one such solid remake. Although the commie rhetoric of the 50s film version is blunted a bit in favor of sci-fi this go-around, we get weird period 70s costumes, and a general hopeless and malaise that fits well with the post-Vietnam Carter years. We also get a young Jeff Goldblum, Leonerd Nimoy, a taste of Veronica Cartwright being a nervous wreck which she would quickly reprise in Alien, and Donald Sutherland famously REEEEEing out at the coda. So we get actors who have long personal histories in scifi/horror, this time in an interesting side project. I haven't seen it in years but I really want to, now that I've written this.

Also not that guy, I didn't know what to make of that comment. 80s Blob is certainly /worthy/ of Carpenter, though (although Carpenter himself has been hit and miss over his career).

Can't find the clip, but while we're on the subject of acid/melting deaths, the scene from the movie "Untraceable" where the guy is dissolved in HCL up to his neck and they find his head on a skeleton always fucked me up
>>
>>67767312
I think fetishes are tied to what you were afraid of as a kid. I used to be fucking terrified of mutilations and specifically flattenings but now that's what turns me on. Weird how shit works out like that.
>>
>>67783512
I'm pretty sure I wasn't scared by ahegao and futa when I was a kid, and I'm sure as not hell not turned on by insects.
I do like monster-girls, if that even counts.
>>
>>67782430
I went in expecting some kind of goofy western horror comedy thing, because the idea of it was just silly, but it takes itself seriously, its suprisingly good and worth a watch.
>>
>>67770366
That pic related still sends chills down my spine. It's just so bloody horribly wrong.
>>

One of the funniest films I've ever seen, Human centipede 3.
>>
who watches this shit

I only got like 3 videos in and I'm disgusted.

Now I'll be unironically looking over my shoulder to make sure the blob isn't seeping out of a vent or something
>>
>>67783973
The first time I saw the blob as a little kid I would get off the couch for 4 hours because I though that it would get me if I let my feet touch the floor
>>
>>67784025
*Wouldn't
>>
>>67784025
your parents let you watch horror movies as a kid?
>>

I hope you're not talking about the 80s movie because that shit would traumatize any non psycho kid

Well I wasn't allowed to watch scary movies, and should have known better because Goonies and Indiana Jones scared me, but my friends dad was based AF and let us watch all kinds of stuff late at night on TV

I remember getting freaked out by the Twilight Zone movie where the two guys are in the car, and one turns into some demon/alien thing

If you're going The Thing you've gotta go when the doc gets his hand bitten off by Norris' chest then Norris' head falls off and grows legs while he grows ANOTHER head out of his chest.

I consider this a "death".

Still the best practical forced transformation scene I've ever seen.
