No. Basically the plot of Treasure Island is Flint buries a treasure, kills the only two people who help him bury it, and dies somehow. Billy Bones escapes with the only map that Flint made and it lands in the lap of some kid. The guy who then puts together an expedition to recover it winds up hiring Silver and most of Flint's old crew without knowing they were at port searching for the map. The port was swarming with rumors about the treasure and Silver had the foresight to ingratiate himself to the man holding the purse strings for the voyage.
Then of course they mutiny once they get to the island.
So it's more like Flint dies, Billy tries to run off and grab it for himself but has a stroke before he can do anything, and the rest of the crew has been chasing him down so they can all claim their share.

Literally everyone in the show is playing everything like a chess match, setting up pieces, elaborate strategies etc, while Vane was there he would be the guy who just flips the table and charges in like a bulldozer. Was a nice contrast to have, forces everyone around him to constantly have to rethink their plans.
