Why is this put on such a high pedestal? It just seems like any other generic American sitcom.

It's so good. It has two comic relief George/Constanza. Like two Barney Fifes that hold their own. Jason Alexander literally makes that show, I've watched thru them like 5 or 6 times. I can see how others wouldn't like it with the laugh track , I hate standard sitcoms. Also Seinfeld has the added nostaliga bonus now that most of the episodes are over 20 years

*George/Kramer sorry stoned
> Work with a guy that communicates in obscure seinfeld references
Life is suffering. I know the show but he knows it so much better than I do

I just don't understand how a show starring the atrocious human being that is Jerry Seinfield could be so huge
>jewfeld
>>67762458
Never mind the show. What about Bee The Movie'd?
I wonder how it feels to be mostly famous for starring in a fictional account of your own life. It's gotta be weird, right? *Really* weird. You wouldn't really ever feel like you'd accomplished anything. Suppose that would explain the stupid shit Jerry's said and done since the show ended.

it's the most popular TV show in US TV history
that means it must be the best, because Americans live in a psychological cul-de-sac where success = merit. obviously Seinfeld is a good show, but all the stuff that it gets credited for as being "original" was already done in other shows/movies/etc.
it's basically that straightforward.

>but all the stuff that it gets credited for as being "original" was already done in other shows/movies/etc
Ok. List and name them then. Remember, must be older than this show it self.
>It just seems like any other generic American sitcom
Seinfeld came up with a lot of stereotypical sitcom tropes

>generic American sit com
It's like when people say Shakespeare is cliche and boring. We look back and say that but it sort of invented the category we compare it to in my opinion. This monotonous comedy routine we do to this day kind of came from this show in my mind.

Right now the book club episode is on.
JERRY: Ah, I could've stayed home and ordered a pizza from Paccino's.
ELAINE: Paccino's? Oh no. You should never order pizza from Paccino's.
JERRY: Why not?
ELAINE: Because, the owner contributes a lot of money to those fanatical, anti-abortion groups.
