Thanks. It's already on my watchlist. I'm a big fan of Dreyer, but I need some time after being emotionally destroyed by Ordet.

>translation: the art films i like are better than the shitty art films you like
>care to explain?
>because lol ur favorite art films are stoopid!!! suck it nerd!!!
these threads are always trash created by pseudo intellectual idiots who only make them to feel better about themselves and to validate their "superior" taste
>>67758344
Care to explain why you would post a post filled with so much butthurt?
translation: I got BTFO for being a pleb, and now i'm bitter.

the only things that make them trashy are the meme spouting faggots and the contrarians like you.
Am I the only one who really loves the Philip Glass Opera for pic related?
why the fuck do you guys always try to confine yourselves in a fucking bunker with these threads? you do realize if you made an individual thread about each film you post in here it would at least help to drown out the capeshit

i've been taking a class at Uni on latin american and third world revolutionary cinema. Lots of good films I had never heard of, super off the general "arthouse canon" radar even though we saw some works by the likes of Eisenstein.
The revolutionary aspects are unique in the way that they both reflect and reject the hollywood and european traditions that had entrenched themselves in world cinema up till that point. Filmakers such as Rocha and Solanas were both academics who put forward critical theories for cinema that broke these mold, akin to the dogme 93 movement but dating from the 60s and concerned more with revolutionary ambition than pure revolutionary ambition as dogme 93 seems to have been.
Is there any good cinema relating to early American colonization/first encounters?

>>67757987
Great film
Also sidenote, does anyone else hope this new format is only temporary because it sucks?
>>67759440
I quite enjoyed it, it's one of those "journey" films where you don't really know what's going on but you're completely absorbed by it
I liked the Melies/Dr. Caligari aesthetic and laughed quite a bit at the spooky skeleton part
Where was his career heading?

Is Ordet somewhat like Winter Light? I really liked Winter Light and Order seems like the Danish equivalent.
