The chemistry between Frasier and Martin is among the best in television history. I was a bit disappointed when they gave them both final love interests. I just wanted it to them being bitterly stuck with eachother.

The fact that they are well intentioned jerks is part of the humor. They all care about eachother, but are stuck up their own asses that they do dickish things without realizing it.
i dont get some of the refferences,i feel like im missing apart of the joke sometimes.
im glad a comedy show that expects more from their audience exists though.

That's the point. Frasier was a show that didn't explain the jokes and if you didn't get it too bad fuck you read a book.
Not a lot of shows even try that with individual jokes anymore. Even Arrested Development gave up after the first season.

The first couple of seasons has top notch banter between characters. Season 3 starts to suffer from flanderaziation. Characters start acting completely different just so there can be a joke. The rest of the time they're exaggerations of themselves.

Literally everything about the show explains how Frasier is no better than an average man, and often worse off for thinking he is.
Martin is the best example. His own father is not a pretentious fuck and is perfectly content.
Contribution to society isn't the question.

Frasier is a celebrity and a doctor, who lives in an apartment that is fancy even by tv standards. And just like you've said, the point of the show is to look at some retired nobody ex-cop, sitting in a disgusting chair watching television and think "what a moron that frasier is for ever thinking he could be better than a man like his Father"
Frasier is an attempt to associate the trappings of upper middle class power with weakness by deriding it as feminine
