I cant be the only one who thinks this looks completely ridiculous, right? I mean, the first one was acceptable and interesting but I feel like with this sequel, they'r efalling back into old routines. If they want to continue telling fairy tails, I think they need to find a new way to do it because, honestly, with these kinds of movies I feel as though I've already watched it before, and in many senses I have.
How can we make fantasy genre movies interesting without gore or people banging? I like the genre it just needs something more. And these characters look like the actors with funny costumes on. Seriously, they look absurd.

i was going to watch it on netflix after it came out but after the constant ads in my face all i have for it is pure contempt.
It's nice to see Smeagol getting more work outside of Tolkien stuff.

Lol, I think she's pretty but her costume looks like shit
>>67750714
Yeah, no one's going to go see this shit. It looks awful and nobody wanted a sequel to a mediocre movie anyway.

Who are these movies marketed to anyway? It's not for little kids, it's not a smart version for adults, teenage boys will think it's too gay (the first one with KStew, at least, which this one will be associated with), it will be too violent for teenage girls, and there seems to be no artistic integrity involved. The first one made some money (not a lot, but a bit), so there seems to be a crowd. Is it teenagers completely devoid of personality who just want to watch dumb expensive schlock but are still afraid to just fuck each other instead? What started this trend of edgy movies based on fairytales?

I think desu it started with the late harry potter movies. But I agree they don't seem to have an clear audience in mind. Would like to see new takes, like a Fable series

How about old gritty original versions of the fairy tales with all the terrible stuff that was taken out in the newer versions put back in and nothing given flare unless it was actually in the original?

Won't happen because movies like these are to fill a niche while appealing to a broader audience. The niche being the fantasy gene while a majority female cast, Chris Hemsworth, and a large focus being on a love story are for the broad female audience of mid-teens to menopausal women.
What went so, so right?
