The battle of Philippi should have been given more attention but the producers had very limited resources to work with; it was absolutely vital to show the scale of hundreds of thousands of Roman soldiers facing off against another equally trained and equipped army and they (the producers) pulled it off.
Other historical battles and sieges were not depicted and briefly mentioned but it didn't take away from the brilliance of the show
