One of my favorite shows ever and a true masterpiece.

literally ever episode feels like a video game side quest. even for a cartoon it is really bad.

It's redundant, and the plot is largely episodic, and the action gets dull.
But there's some really great and beautiful episodes, though. What was the one with those archers in the snow? That was great.
my biggest problem with it is that it was too episodic, you have the great opening episodes with Jack training then going to the future and saving the dogs but after that with a few exceptions no episode is really connected to any other, the last episode might as well have taken place immediately after the intro.
People always lamented that this show was cancelled before it got a proper resolution but it always seemed clear to me that there was never any plan for one in the first place and it was the creator's intent to just keep doing episodes until it was eventually cancelled, which is a shame. Compared to something like Avatar TLA its easily inferior in terms of telling a satisfying story with character growth and a clear beginning middle and end.

yeah that one stuck out in my memory a lot as well, went back to rewatch it unfortunately it really didn't hold up to my recollection, nothing happens for most of the episode, its really poorly paced.

Suffers from the same problem Cowboy Bebop had. Things kind of happen episode to episode and are linked by a barebones story that shines when it focuses on Jack vs Aku (Or for Bebop Spike and Vicious).
Regardless of story shortcomings, its probably the most beautifully animate thing to ever come out of cartoon network.

I'd probably put the one where he fights the invincible guardian as my favorite episode because it was one of the few where the long build up was actually well done.
